Penney and van Aken

Recommended Posts

Doom said on his podcast this week that Wednesday had explored if they could bring them back and had concluded it wasn't an option so they're not available until next season (whenever that may be).

Not saying it's set in stone but Doom isn't usually far off the mark with this kind of stuff.

Is there a reason why they aren’t allowed to play for us ??

Just wondering as I’m sure if there loan was terminated they would be so the fact we have games left is the same scenario

Depends when their loan deals were too. Also not sure they’re registered to play for us or not. It may be different for Penney as he’s younger and therefore falls into the homegrown category maybe? Can’t see Van Aken being eligible though.

You’re not able to play for two teams within one registration period, with exception of non league in UK and emergency loans in certain countries.

Pretty sure it’s 3 teams in one registration period because sometimes players can play in the first few games in August then go out on loan somewhere. Players also sometimes have 2 loans in a season

So we can't play one of our own homegrown players in our games in July, because he's on loan. Despite the fact his loan has finished, St Pauli don't have any matches and he will have returned to his home club. I thought loans were designed to give younger players more exposure to competitive football, not to stop them playing. Classic EFL.

not in one registration period, from transfer window closed until next window it’s one period. Two registration periods per season. Can play for a max of three teams per season as the last seasons registration runs until September.

thats how I understand it anyhow. May be wrong but no way any player out on loan can return to their parent club and play this season.

Fairly sure it’s same the world over! None of the billion players out on loan from Chelsea can come back in for their last few games either. Not can sanchez come back for Utd etc.

They all have to be registered next season.
