GARRY MONK - All posts about the Sheffield Wednesday Manager in here

The 3 renewals obviously are impacted cos of the budget.

I anticipate Fox and Fletcher if he takes a pay cut will stay.

In the summer Hutch, FF and Westwood offloaded and Rhodes if a taker can be found.

Covid will have made it even more imperative we cut our cloth and unfortunately it means one more season of poo before we can reload in effect, hopefully with better recruitment next time we can spend proper money

We get taken over by a multi billionaire who sorts the club out and gets us promoted to the Prem of course.

Within EFL rules. Of course it’s that easy

Wouldn’t it be nice though to have an owner that didn’t take the pi$$ out of the fans with ticket prices etc, am owner that didn’t mess up so badly he had to sell the ground to himself, an owner that isn’t a puppet for Paxo, an owner that knows something about football and how to run a club is a sustainable manner, someone who isn’t running the club in to the ground. Enough clubs manage to be a success and even gain promotion while sticking to the EFL rules, they just have owners that know what they are doing.

1- I have a season ticket that is very reasonably priced in my opinion.

2- A chairman that is currently running our club out of his own pocket and not borrowing money from banks. A chairman that will make sure there will still be a SWFC. When it’s possible numerous clubs could go under.

3- A number of championship clubs are going to fall foul of the EFL rules as they are not fit for purpose. Are they all bad owners as well. He sold the ground to get round FFP rules.
4- He came in spent money ( gambled ) and failed. We now have to rebuild. At least the bloke gave it a go not like previous chairmen. On that basis he deserves respect and a chance to rebuild.

A chairman that has out priced fans that can’t afford a season ticket, a chairman that has got the club in so much debt that he has had to sell our ground to himself and we are no better off for it, and in fact we could well find ourselves a league one club next season and under yet another transfer embargo. If he carries on the same way I wouldn’t be so sure we will have a club at the end of all this. It’s okay saying he spent money but he hasn’t sold people, he has run the club exactly like what he is, a man that hasn’t a clue how a successful football club should be run as a business.

It it Monk making the decisions or the owner

How about Monk or the owner learns how to use their subs properly. Or how about they start treating their players with dignity and respect

Bates is going back to Hamburg with his career ruined by Wednesday.

He's yet another casualty in a long list of players who came to the club with promise. Never played and had their careers totally ruined.

And then there's the money we waste on these players.

Im appalled at our man management

We are a total disgrace.

Monk or the owner. Theres no difference.

Every club monk has been at he's had blacklists, there's been corruption, etc. He's certainly at home and not alone with his dirt at wednesday.

The club is not in debt at all. Chansiri has not borrowed one penny from Banks and our outgoings and losses are from his own pocket. Of course if he decides to sell he may want his money back. Who could blame him the abuse he gets. The club is restricted by FFP and not debt. He sold the ground to try and get round this.

Maybe he was naive in his first 2 years and put players on big contracts. However he will now know more about the industry than any expert on here. Since when have we been a successful football club.

The club is a separate legal entity. It owes Chansiri money.  Therefore it is in debt.

My point was he didn’t have to sell the club to manage a debt. Which was suggested. He sold to get round FFP charges.

Quite an interesting interview with Odubajo about Monk today.  Obviously might be trying to win favour with his boss to get back into the side but otherwise it’s good to read.  As Owls fans we have to cling on to any glimmer of hope right now that the manager is actually good and that it’s other circumstances that have gone against him.   We shall see

I read this earlier too, as you say we have to hope that Monk turns out to be a decent manager.  On Xmas day I would have said I was happy for him to be with us long term but something has gone horribly wrong since then.  Maybe the return to fitness of our best players and more time to implement his ideas will help us finish the season strongly. Also any squad unrest might have been resolved with certain players not being involved in the daily training.

Anyway, lots of hope until Saturday and then we see Pelupessy, Nuhiu and Da Cruz in the starting line up and it’s wet fart time again

And then tried to back date it just for sh@ts and giggles.

Be nice to look to the U23's for some players for League 1 if we get relegated, which looks a real possibility.  Then if that doesn't work he could throw some more money at it in pure hope like last time. Maybe like sh@t against a wall like last time as well.

All pointless if he refuses to sell any players and refresh the squad at least in an attempt to balance the books.  And STILL stubbornly carry on his crap communication with the fans or at least refuse to try something different.

Did you expect him to say Monk hasn't got a clue and doesn't care about any attention to detail? Look what has happened to those who challenge his approach.

Any club that has given him a pre season to work with have got rid of him within months, giving him more time is wasting more time, much like it was with Jos.
