Makes a fair point though, players been away from football for much longer than a normal off-season and expected to play again after only a couple of weeks of training. 

 

It's also a reasonable point about looking after the welfare of players and the club, considering the financial impact of an injured player. 

 

Doesn't surprise me though, we all know the motives of the EFL. Suspect there has been plenty of consultation with SKY about the start date, but none with the clubs or PFA it seems.
