Hello everyone.

As some of you may already know, we’re in the process of setting up a new Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust and we are now formally recognised by the Football Supporters’ Association – something that the club had been lacking (until now we were one of the few Championship clubs without one).

This will give fans a stronger voice and our aim is to establish better connections with Sheffield Wednesday, providing effective, positive dialogue between club and fans for the benefit of everyone associated with the Owls. You can find out more information, including a detailed FAQ section and notes from previous meetings, at swfctrust.co.uk.

The formal process began back in March and since then the interim board have been working on the administration needed to become a registered Trust. We’ve made great progress and are now in a position to move to our next stage – gathering as wide a range of opinions as possible to help inform our policies, as we build up to a full launch when we will begin accepting memberships.

With this in mind, today we’ve launched the first in a series of surveys looking at different aspects of the club. We want to reach as many fans as possible, so the administrators of this site have kindly allowed us to post a link to the survey.

This is a huge chance for you to have your say on the state of Sheffield Wednesday. We welcome all views and your responses to this series of surveys really will influence the direction the Trust takes and any dialogue we have with the club.

First up, we’d like your views on club governance and ticket prices.

Click here to take the survey

Thanks for your time.

Here's the link again for anyone who's not yet completed this survey

I think the biggest problem is the walk up pricing, it’s obvious why DC did it ! He wanted everyone to be a season ticket holder, once you’ve set the price it’s difficult to lower the price to a reasonable level without completely restructuring the whole season ticket pricing.  Maybe that’s what it needs ? Like I’ve said I’m happy. UTO

As someone who regularly works away and works Saturdays quite often along with many others, due to other reasons of their own this is the biggest turn off for getting to games for me.

It's not worth buying a season ticket.

Then having to work in Scotland working 2 week runs for 4/5 months.

The whole set up was geared up to get as many buying season tickets for 3/5 years, so he could throw money at it and try get promoted quickly,. It didn't work and we'd left ourselves short of  FFP income due to hardly any  ticket sales for following seasons to meet a shortfall

The best way forward would be to look at the pay on the gate prices for other similar sized clubs in our region and in the championship and charge a similar price which would be fair for both home and away fans and wouldn't leave people feeling ripped off.

I have exactly the same problem, but he cant change the POTG prices as the Season ticket holders would be

dis-advantaged, so he has cornered himself trying to make most fans Season ticket holders.

The other point is part Season tickets which ran for half a Season, same problem here for me I cant say when

I can make the matches from day to day, and if I do get a weekend off sometimes they move the match to Sunday and

then I cant get because of transport, ie trains / buses, if a part time Season ticket was available between 5-10 games

over the entire Season, then I would buy one.

I selected higher prices had to scroll left!

I said £25 for Kop and North £30 for South and £20 for Grandstand!

As I said earlier we need to look around at what other clubs of a similar size, ground etc are charging, but also where we are geographically we're not in London.

Using L#&ds would be a good example, similar size ground and fan base (though numbers will be up as their doing well at the moment).

Also in Yorkshire and the championship. For me charging a similar price as them would be fair for everyone.

They are crap and worrying we all know that, doesn't take a survey to tell us something we already know.

But in your previous post you stated that a good time to survey would be when accounts/order book start to plateau.

I think it is fair to reason and can be seen from attendance figures before the virus that the order book will be on the decline. Are you contradicting yourself?

Yeah that would be an option, basically a say 10/15 game ticket to be used and stamped off whenever throughout the season. Though it still wouldn't address the ammount of away fans were also missing out on over the season due to pricing bud.

This is like no other business. Think about it. People pay thousands up front every year, for a product they don’t know, for a seat in a stadium where every other seat is empty every week. You can’t compare that to anything else.

Football is the play thing for the very wealthy with very big egos. The fans are a side show. Not at all relevant or important.

Think the reaction to behind closed doors games is not reflecting that and the further down the leagues you go, the more important the fans are to the clubs.

No I was talking about businesses in general.

OK fair enough. You seem to be very involved in arguing about a survey you are not interested in.

To me this survey seems far less bias than the one put out by the club which asked something along the lines of 'Would you prefer to keep the price structure as it is and press on with the approach of building a team to push for promotion as has been the case for the last couple of years or would you rather prices are reduced and the squad building strategy is changed to reflect this'.

I was taking the bait Neil threw at me, I should know better.

Bias is subjective in this regard, I just can't see what we can learn from it, that's my point.  I wouldn't have thought that the club learnt anything that they didn't already know when they did their survey.

If we are paying high prices and not getting the results the fans aren't going to be happy.  Simple as that.

Please don't be the new Neil, I have dishes to wash.

I can never be the new Neil, there's only one Neil!

Just think it is worth doing if they can get the numbers and analyse the data. The opportunity to have free text form answers to the questions will help to add more context.

The last survey that the club did was considered a success by the club - issued to 28,000 fans with the data showing overwhelmingly that fans wanted to stick with the current price structure while pressing on with the same level of investment - we got half of the bargain at least!

That's the sensible  business like approach most people would take.

However I've always said nobody cares about ticket prices and off the field issues when your top of league!
