Barnsley refund options for ST holders

It doesn’t matter how wealthy the owners are, if they are determined to operate with in the rules set out by the EFL, and not exploit loopholes to invest money the club hasn’t generated, then for a club that generates a pittance like ours, every penny is crucial. As you well know some our fan base are as thick as a tub of spunk, they need both hands to count to 12. The club had no choice but to put it bluntly, plain and simple.

These are exceptional circumstances and you might expect the wealthiest owners in the league to put their hands in their own pockets at times of crisis or put the owners on the players first rather than the loyal fans who pay out year after year and have now paid for game they aren't going to see.

You’re allowed losses of £39million over 3 seasons. How much does it cost to turn the lights on at Oakwell!?

It’s £400k and the bad press/feeling is surely worth that alone.

Last summer we set out a budget for the entire season based on the money we received from season ticket and players sales, to give back some of that money means we’ve spent more than we generated,  which is against EFL rules, which is cheating, our board aren’t going threatening legal action against the EFL for allowing clubs to exploit loopholes and in some cases blatantly cheat, if they’re doing the same, any shortfall this season will come out next seasons budget, and could be the difference between keeping one of our better players or having to let him go, the club are he’ll bent on running the club correctly and within the rules set out by the EFL, in return they expect the EFL to make sure all the other clubs are doing the same.

Hahahahahahahahaha ok. Why didn’t they sue Bolton when you went down last time then?

It’s not Bolton it’s the EFL, the EFL should have punished them that season they didn’t, instead they punished them them the two season after that, so we paid the price of relegation because Bolton cheated their way to safety, we was the club that paid the ultimate price because the EFL punished them when we wasn’t in the same league as them. Every other club in the league with them benefited from them being punished apart from the club it had the biggest impact on, this time our board have quite rightly warned the EFL if it happens again we’ll be suing for compensation.

Nothing to do with Wednesday being one of the clubs this time, then? You say they punished Bolton two seasons after, but you were in League One when our charges relate to...

I’m not bothered one bit who the clubs are, or when they did it, how long as it been dragging on ?. EFL have known about these particular alleged infringements months, what’s taking them so long ?. Questions have got to be asked about their integrity surely you can see that, why should Wensdeh have this hanging over them for going on 6 months why hasn’t it been sorted, you’ve ether broken the rules or you haven’t it simple.

You are not in League One - yet!

The club will be allowed to record a £400,000 loss for this Championship season - better to put it on the fans though eh?

Any news on whether the players are willing to cough up for the losses having been paid for nothing for a couple of months?

Aye agreed but the issue is it just goes back and forth for months. It just seems like your club are throwing the teddies out of the cot this time ‘cause it’s Wednesday is all..

They don’t want to run at a loss and will not by hook or by crook. And nor should they.

Why should the players take a pay cut ?. The club will not lose any money what so ever, if they can’t pay the bills with the money they received from ticket sales, due to giving some back, they’ll sell off assets to pay them. That’s the way they intend to run the club, and let’s be honest it’s the right way, it more or less eliminates any risk of the club having to fold. Because we’re run like this we’re in a really strong financial position in these times of uncertainty were as other clubs might go to the wall.

Honestly pal do think 3 Yanks and a Chinese man, give two hoots about Wensdeh, they’re bothered about their business and that’s it, they believe they’ve got a case against the EFL because of the way they are running the leagues, not any individual clubs, their gripe is with the weakness of the EFL and their failure to govern their members correctly and promptly.

True, but I’m sure they would like to get their clubs’ fans on side by doing one over on the club they obsess over more than their own in court...

All this sh!t that’s getting thrown about. FFS, we’ve been charged. We’ve not been found guilty of any wrongdoing yet and might not be? All this Barnsley et al are doing IMO are arguably trying to influence the panel before it sits from outside with their public noises? If I was Wednesday’s counsel I’d be making a big song and dance over this and rightly so?

If a club is being investigated about a possible breach of the rules, our board believe the EFL should resolve the matter quickly, one way or the other, Barnsley FC have absolutely no idea if clubs have broken the rules, but if a club is being investigated they believe the investigations should be done quickly and if any punishment is needed it should be done immediately.

Got be be honest I agree with them.

My thoughts as well. Barnsley trying to influence the panel to find us guilty and dock us points so they survive. Let’s hope our people are kicking off about this.

How on earth can they do that ?. you’ve breached the rules, or you haven’t, if theirs evidence then you’re guilty, if their isn’t you’re innocent, BFC have no idea ether way, but they want to know this season, and if you’re found guilty they want you punished this season,  BFC can’t influence evidence.

Got be be honest I agree with them.

If there is a case to be answered it will be answered and any punishment should fit any potential guilty verdict.

I’m not sure Barnsley however are in any position to dictate to the EFL how long these things should take.

The EFL won’t be rushed just because Barnsley are sat at the bottom of the league, regardless of how many letters they write.

Why don't you buy a shirt with your refund?
