Coming to the threat late can someone post where it says which clubs as the article I just read does not mention anyone unless the website has changed it in the last 30 minutes.

I personally put no stock in any of this, if the personal/organisation saying it cannot put their name to it then simple it should not even be printed.

There's bit too much reticence to name sources in politics for example but outing everyone who says anything or refusing to print it is not the way to go.

It’s a misleading quote really the person doesn’t actually say Chansiri doesn’t have cash.

Also we’re in economic Armageddon. The EFL are faffing around financial fair play. There might not be two full divisions soon... never mind four.

The entire premise is just stupid to be honest, the principals are arguable, however the football leagues shouldn’t be in the business of stopping wealthy owners injecting cash into clubs. Especially at this time. If someone wealthy wants to buy Wigan and spend £100 million living their dream so what. Couldn’t happen now. Administration with no sporting penalty needs to be re established in these uncertain times to give clubs needed flexability moving forward.

FFP was designed to cripple Man City. It seems madness it’s now preventing owners keeping clubs alive in non top flight football. Football needs to revert to how normal business operate. The football creditors rule should be abolished as well. There is numerous risks in doing business on a small scale. Football needs to be radical in the current environment to survive and move forward.

On a different note. Could the thread that was put together after the SWFC v Owkstalk court case be bumped. Just purely because it is a really interesting read and includes a few users testimonies on here of the nightmare they went through at the time.

it will pass a bit of time whilst being stuck at home.

I think that people have completely forgotten the reason things like FFP were put in place in the first place

Imagine (hypothetical scenario) that a minted owner took over a football club, spaffed all his cash on big money players, massssssive contracts, and didn't get promotion.

What then?

Allowing these meglomaniacs free reign to do what they want has been tried and clubs nearly went out of existance because of it

Let's not lose sight of that

Will take the 12 point deduction, survive with one game to go.

Middlesborough have to draw to send Barnsley down, game ends 0-0 Barnsley are down because they aren't good enough.

But wait, Luton just scored a 30 yard thundercracker which leapfrogs them above Middlesborough and puts Middlesborough in the relegation zone.

Luton win 2-1, Barnsley, Middlesborough and Huddersfield are down.

So I can go and windmill outside Conways and Gibsons house now with Prince Andrew.

Conway and Gibson can chat about it next season on their league one tours.

What a load of old codswallop. If we get relegated it'll be on merit, not because the 6 fingered gang have got face on because they haven't been able to 'visit family' during lockdown. Dirty dingles.

Think you may be wrong on this.

I work with someone from Barnsley and he has seen his wife and sister. Admittedly they are the same person.

Because the introduction of FFP has made such a difference to catastrophic ownership of clubs over the last decade hasn’t it?

This entire farce needs ending.

The alternative could be way way worse..

What situation would Sheffield Wednesday be in right now if Chansiri HAD been allowed to spaff even more on players and big contracts and then give them to the likes of Jos Luhukay to look after?

Correct.

Clubs can still be horrendously mismanaged and left with financial and legal struggles with no end in sight.

We don't need to look far to see an example.

we might have got up if it want for stupid FFP. Administration without penalties and football creditors rules need Scrapping. Clubs need ways of defaulting on stupid contracts. Every other area of business outside of sport allows this. People sign contracts at risk on both sides, players might then have to take insurance out on their contracts for example incase of club administration... that sort of thing.

FFP is a complete joke and done nothing but ruin clubs over the last decade or so..

But the intent is to stop that happening or hold it back as much as humanly possible

I honestly can't believe fans want our chairmen to lose millions and millions and millions of pounds and not expect it all to go belly up

Our mismanagement is entirely down to the FFP regulations and strategies to deal with them.

On the contrary

several clubs a season were going into administration before FFP was introduced

You're simply falling for the same gambling temptation that Chansiri appears to have struggled with in his first few seasons with us.

That kind of thinking is ridiculous

If it was just the sheer amount of cash you spend then you could guarantee success.

But it doesn't work like that in reality
