whole thing is a shambles

Birmingham got 9 points deduction

QPR got a 10m fine paid over 10 years and a 1 window transfer ban for massively exceeding the limit

if Villa are relegated nothing will happen to them. Bournemouth flouted the rules to get promoted, nothing happened to them. Leicester went bust to clear the decks got promoted and nothing happened to them

Agreed, the governance of football leaves a lot to be desired.

Its broken - more a business now, than a sport.

Needs to go back to playing the game - not win at all costs.

Surprised how it has  grown and grown in popularity and not eaten itself by now - how fans aren’t sick of the greed and vested interests.

Don't think this current crisis will change anything either.

None sold their ground at inflated rate to a bogus company.

If this is the case we will have correspondence to prove it and we will be fine, if we don't then we are shafted, if we did have correspondence why are the EFL pursuing this.

Guessing this was written before the charges were dropped.

Who are we in debt to? The owner who pays the players but doesn’t have any money. :duntmatter:

No it isn’t. On the face of it I have some sympathy for the Club (in principle).

The governing body are to blame for this - mixed messages, mixed treatments of past indiscretions and by not adopting a zero tolerance stance years ago.

And, we don’t even have one overriding governing body - PL, EFL etc, etc (or whatever they are called).

You can’t blame Clubs for ultimately playing the system.

How many times has this been covered? When reviewing the case after the fact the EFL said extra information emerged from documents supplied by the club. It all hangs on what that information is.

My guess would be that we got confirmation in principle that we could sell assets to raise funds. But we did a wierd back dating of the sale and the money raised via sale is not new income more an IOU? So the devil will be in the detail

What makes you think that?

Because it’s talking about Chansiri not being missed and talking about an individual.

Not sure that only applies to personal charges though?

Give over, he is minted according to some on here, its only the FFP rules that are stopping raiding Europe's elite clubs for their top talent.

You got access to his bank account ?

They are hoping that we get 15 point penalty and they make up a 5 point defecit over the 9 games left, so they can stay up..... not very likely that they will stay up is it

More likely to be our friends from Middlesbrough than the dingles behind this, if true, they are probably just hanging on the cost tales of others

maybe not but he’d still be part of the club and EFL if the club was docked points.

I'm just trying to picture the conversation in my mind.

DC: Hello Mr EFL I'm a little over my FFP limit.

EFL: Oh dear that won't do will it.

DC: Fear not, I have a cunning plan which I need to run by you.

EFL: Please go on, we'd love to hear it.

DC: Well I'm thinking of starting another company that doesn't exist and selling our ground to it at  a massively inflated price which just so happens to cover our losses and makes us 2m profit, all this whilst fudging it into our previous accounts.

EFL: Mr Chansiri your a genius, we will be more than happy to sign this off for you.

I can't see how on earth that looks good in anyone's world.

Its not the price or who bought it, it wasn't a bogus company, it was a paper transaction where DC bought the ground from the club wasn't it, it is to due with what tax year the transaction was put into, and therefore which years accounts the money should have declared in

Doesn't have to look good, just needs to be within the rules
