To be fair to the Premier League they were the first to cancel the competition, even when the government were still saying things were ok to carry on. They took a stand and money wasn’t the deciding factor back then.

That last paragraph says it ALL

Indeed.

Watford obviously leave an attacker up field to draw a defender out of the box.

They didn't do it for altruistic or ethical reasons

They cancelled the weekends fixtures because too many teams couldn't play

Then events overtook and the football leagues had no option but to cancel

I'm struggling to get my head round this.

This virus has been part responsible for the deaths of 0.001% of the under 45 population.

Almost all of those had underlying health risks.

The threat to athletes aged between 20 and 35 is closer to bugger all than negligible.

I can see why they wouldn't want to play if they are in the same household as a vulnerable person, but surely that won't apply to most.

This is a staggering lack of perspective that has been addressed even just on Owlstalk over and over again.

If the only issue at stake was the death of young men from the virus, then you might be right. But it isn't is it? Not by a long, long way.

It’s not a lack of perspective though is it? The flu each year will kill more over 70s than COVID kills under 40s however we don’t close up shop each year to prevent the vulnerable Being killed from the flu.

It's Tuesday 19th May and people are STILL trying to compare Covid19 to flu?

Even though time and time and time and time again it's been proven way way more deadly and there are countless scientists explaining the difference and why comparisons to flu are WRONG?

REALLY?

Not to mention there are vaccines to help prevent and anti- viral drugs to help treat seasonal flu

No I’m not comparing the 2. I am comparing the deaths for certain age groups.

why don’t we shut down over 70s in winter when thousands die of the flu, but we are saying athletes under 40 cannot kick a ball round a field when the death rate for that bracket is so low?

It makes me cry that people are still trying to compare flu and Covid19

I just can't fathom why people are STILL trying to do that.

Why aren’t we allowed to compare COVID deaths to other deaths?

Surely part of death prevention should be comparing different types of deaths with age groups so you know which areas to try and reduce deaths in. I can’t fathom why you wouldn’t want to compare COVID deaths to other deaths.

Comparing flu to covid is literally like comparing brain damage to arthritis

So you want to compare COVID to something which has a vaccine?

And to something which we haven't found anyway to contain.

And spreads much more quickly

Too simplistic mate

You need to read up on this matter before comparing the two - They're two totally separate things

No I didn't

Log off and educate yourself as what you are spouting is ignorant and misguided

And ignorance is dangerous when we need to understand this virus
