Miffed
To be fair to the Premier League they were the first to cancel the competition, even when the government were still saying things were ok to carry on. They took a stand and money wasn’t the deciding factor back then.

They didn't do it for altruistic or ethical reasons They cancelled the weekends fixtures because too many teams couldn't play Then events overtook and the football leagues had no option but to cancel

This virus has been part responsible for the deaths of 0.001% of the under 45 population. Almost all of those had underlying health risks. The threat to athletes aged between 20 and 35 is closer to bugger all than negligible. I can see why they wouldn't want to play if they are in the same household as a vulnerable person, but surely that won't apply to most. This is a staggering lack of perspective that has been addressed even just on Owlstalk over and over again. If the only issue at stake was the death of young men from the virus, then you might be right. But it isn't is it? Not by a long, long way. The flu each year will kill more over 70s than COVID kills under 40s however we don’t close up shop each year to prevent the vulnerable Being killed from the flu. It's Tuesday 19th May and people are STILL trying to compare Covid19 to flu? Even though time and time and time and time again it's been proven way way more deadly and there are countless scientists explaining the difference and why comparisons to flu are WRONG? REALLY? No I’m not comparing the 2. I am comparing the deaths for certain age groups. why don’t we shut down over 70s in winter when thousands die of the flu, but we are saying athletes under 40 cannot kick a ball round a field when the death rate for that bracket is so low? Why aren’t we allowed to compare COVID deaths to other deaths? Surely part of death prevention should be comparing different types of deaths with age groups so you know which areas to try and reduce deaths in. I can’t fathom why you wouldn’t want to compare COVID deaths to other deaths.

And spreads much more quickly
