We miss defenders like this, apart from Iorfa, we don't have many defenders that score goals like, Reda Johnson, Viv Anderson, Pearson etc...

Cant name other centre back we’ve had that was such a goal threat. 10 goals in 79 games. 
 

Pearson scored a couple of important goals, 14 goals in 180 games, Bougherra was a threat but only scored 2 in 28 games.  Mick Lyons scored 12 in 129 games.

True, but most of his goals were from set-pieces, the same as Llera.

What about that centre back we had called Paul Warhurst I here he scored a few goals as well. (in 1 season)

Probably my favourite player of that era - bursting with passion, brave and decent on the ball. 

 

Shame he wasn't fast in the first place, and his legs had gone when we got promoted. Still a leader, something we miss atm.

The desire to get some of those goals typified how passionate and hard working he was. I love that photo of him in 2012 when the fans lift him up on the pitch. Good times

One thing you can tell from those clips, - he played with such passion.  Something that we are as a team, so devoid of in the current squad.

Wouldn’t you love a cb with his passion and desire to win !! Plus he tried to play properly. For years we’d been subject to CB’s that head and kick at all costs... then he came along and first long ball forward he takes it down on the chest and spreads a 35 year ball to the advanced left back which started an attack.... we’d got used to the Guy Branstons and Danny Baaths of this world

Ashley Westwood, 9 goals in 91 starts. Shame about his work in the other half.
