@YesWeCrann I don’t know if you can feed this back to someone at your place but if you can could you put forward the view that it’s becoming impossible for you to change perceptions of The Star when this is the kind of news articles coming out of there today.

A fun little slideshow of Sheffield murder victims (some of which are still live investigations) and family members of our fellow Sheffield people

And then to rub it in more, a jolly little comparison of Covid deaths to our stadium??

WTF are your colleagues playing at?

I feel so sorry for you. You’re clearly a solid writer with a really refreshing outlook and good articles but when The Star publish things like this it’s going to undermine your efforts

The feedback from Wednesday fans over the Hillsborough article on Twitter has been loud and angry, but instead of taking it down The Star have actually tried arguing for its publication.

This type of stuff is going to wreck your chances of getting Wednesday fans back on board (to say the least)

I saw the two articles you refer to on the front page of the Star website earlier today and moved away from the website immediately. No surprise that it has received a negative reaction, what did they expect.

It beggars belief that what is supposed to be an informative provider of news in the local area deems this kind of thing to be appropriate and then tries to justify it.

To think one person alone working as a professional in this field thought these were good ideas is bad enough but presumably they have teams of writers that discuss this type of thing and editors that they have to get past makes it worse.

For what it's worth, SAG are also outraged, and have demanded that The Star not include the North West corner in their figures

Darren Burke at it again isn't he, he was the one last time about the blood stained windows near Hillsborough Stadium when it wasn't anywhere near it.

Feel sorry for the owls star team who have to share a platform with gutter journalists like him.

This Star journalist has now published two offensive and disgraceful articles using Hillsborough Stadium.

After the first one The Star was called out on it and he was rightly made clear how offensive it was to use our stadium in that way

Yesterday he ignores previous feedback and goes twice as hard, this time using our stadium (with its history etc) to illustrate the recent deaths from Covid19?!?

When he woke up and saw our fans anger this morning instead of apologising and putting his hands up to the tasteless garbage he had written he went on the offensive and played victim

Amazing

And at the same time his colleagues are on social media asking people if they’d subscribe to The Star and pay a monthly fee to read his work

He has since posted a couple of follow up tweets with previous articles he did comparing the death rate with Donny and Utd's stadiums as though that somehow makes it OK, completely callous.
