All I can remember is their keeper with the blond hair (Mellor?) and the scoreboard saying 4 0. 4-0 That must be when Peter Rodrigues smashed one in the top corner..... Memories.... Only rich posh people went in the stands in them days. Today, we have loads of posh fans. Some even pretend to be rich. .

It always was. In the 80's the kop was always the place to be & rammed. North was the posh stand compared to the kop & there were not as many wealthy enough to pay that bit extra. I think some kopites have graduated to the North over the years.

Sissons11
This was also the first match that I attended. I think the Rodrigues goal must have been from a different match. Scorers that day were Colin Prophet at the Leppings Lane end just before half time then Tommy Craig with a penalty in the second half. Two longer range goals by Jonny Sissons and Brian Joicey completed the scoring.

I can vaguely remember a Tommy Craig penalty at the kop end from when I was really young so it could have been this game. Great memories of that kit and some of those players. Any idea of the teams that day mate?

After Tommy Craig he was my next favourite player of that time, a dashing winger with blonde hair. Didn't we get him from West Ham? The programme brings back memories too. If I remember right it was 20p for a junior on the Kop, 5p for the programme, 2p each way the bus into town another 2p for the football special from Flat St. All from my pocket money of 50p a week, with change for comics and sweets. Sissons11
Wednesday's team for that match (and most games around that time with not many changes then) was 1 Peter Grummett 2 Peter Rodrigues 3 Dave Clements 4 Colin Prophet 5 John Holsgrove 6 Graham Pugh 7 Jackie Sinclair 8 Tommy Craig 9 Brian Joicey 10 Mick Prendergast 11 John Sissons Note - Craig's may not have been a penalty that day but he did score quite a few

Sergeant Tibbs
Imagine going to a home game knowing it would be like that. My first proper memories of walking to the ground was seeing the cantilever (never bothered to find out what that meant) stand, floodlights and all. And the open kop, give me Saturday afternoon on there any day.

Graham Pugh being the only survivor from the cup final loss against Everton 5&1/2 yrs before, the strange thing being was that he was one of the six 20 year and younger old players in our side in the final. To be fair though the Wednesday players are all at this end with no opposition in sight so it’s probably just prior to kick off...can’t see what the clock on the North says! The North never filled up early they were all on the concourse swilling ale or cups of tea. Generally folks only ever wandered up to their seats just afore kick off. Sadly, I had some Kodachrome slides of the 5-4 Man Utd match but mum threw them out a few years back. They were taken from the Kop end of the North looking towards the goal at the Kop end, it was a similar bright sunny day an’ all.
dejan
Rodrigues cracker was as described but was following season in another 4-0 home win - against Luton. Re the front cover of Fulham programme showing Johnny Sissons, as I recall there was a piece in the following home programme from his sister, saying she is the young lady pictured behind him in the crowd, taken at the Oxford away game on the previous weekend!
