0114
Don’t think Megson would have got the team promoted automatically in 11/12. I think Megson’s recruitment was brilliant, brought in people who really appreciated being at Wednesday and would give 100% every week. I think Jones got them playing some much better football. However I do feel that following promotion to the Championship we would have been better served with Megson in charge. Jones’ recruitment after promotion was mainly poor. Dutch McLovin
Now neither !!! Id take most over these. At the time they were both key, never wanted Megson as never liked his style and when he came I thought wow were going backwards, but he turned it round got results and got the team together that went up. However sacking him was the right thing as we would have never gone up if not, and Jones was brilliant at the time. Turned us into a bit more of a football team and we went up in style and stayed up. However that was as far as he could take us. So now, id rather have Stuart Gray back than either of these. Bannofan
Jordan Rhodes and Gary Megson Two people who can't /didn't do anything wrong in Owlstakers eyes. Gary Megson had a complete open net of a situation for a manager, a great squad at his disposal which were at rock bottom due to the disgraceful last months of Irvines campaign. Even then he struggled to turn it around, hardly improving results on the pitch at all in the remainder of that season. Got us going the next season..again nothing special there considering our squad..but the wheels came off after his 'Passion ' was recognised for what it was - old school bully boy nonsense. Jones came in and did a remarkable job, but the key to going up wasn't anything either manager did - It was the situation across the city that opened the door for us. It was, although nobody could have bettered that run of results under Jones, that put the piggies under pressure

Bit of a generalisation there mate. Especially considering you yourself are an Owlstalker yet don't agree with that way of thinking.
