Tommy Lee "Goalkeeper department is one area where SWFC is really healthy"

Former Owls Goalkeeping coach Tommy Lee reckons Sheffield Wednesday are in a great position on the goalkeeper front

"Both Joe and Cammy have come through the academy and are more than good enough to be No 1 goalkeepers in the Championship.

"The goalkeeper department is, in my opinion, one of the areas where the football club is really healthy. They have got great competition in there.

"When you have got that sort of competition, including Westy as well, I think it is only a good thing for the football club and the individual player.

"If you are not performing well, the next guy is just as good and good enough to take his spot."

Will it be challenging to keep Dawson and Wildsmith happy when only one can play?

"If you are not in the squad or not playing, you have got to have as a professional player that desire within you to try and get back in the team.

"That is definitely what Cammy, Joe and Westy have done in my experience.

"I worked with them all on and off and they all really knowledgeable about the position. They are all really intense in the way they want to learn and improve."

I wouldn't expect him to come out and say none of them are good to play in the Championship.

Reports differently of Westwood's attitude than some on here believe though.

He mentioned Westwood more as an afterthought than commending his attitude.

The article is about Wildsmith and Dawson vying for the number 1 spot with Westwood clearly out of the picture so he didn't have to mention Westwood at all.
