Guest Grandad Posted May 1, 2020 Share Posted May 1, 2020 Sheffield Wednesday academy goalkeeping coach Tommy Lee has made a controversial switch to Steel City rivals Sheffield United, The Star can confirm. The former Chesterfield stopper arrived on a full-time basis at Middlewood Road in 2018 after Nicky Weaver was promoted to first-team duties, having retired from a successful playing career at the age of just 31 with recurring shoulder injuries. He has been praised for his work in developing the likes of Josh Render during his time at Wednesday but now moves on to work in the academy at Shirecliffe under Blades academy manager Jack Lester, who played alongside Lee at Chesterfield.
