#YorkshireXI

Recommended Posts

Just seen this on Twitter. A Yorkshire XI where you must have one player from each Yorkshire club, but the player can’t have played for any other team in Yorkshire.

I went for Des at the back, but if we go a goal down he gets dragged for Di Canio.

Bit of fun. Stick it on Twitter and add #YorkshireXI

Andy Robertson & Juninho??? Please don’t tell me your classing Hull & Boro as Yorkshire mate!

Hull and Middlesbrough are in Yorkshire - it’s official as Humberside and Teeside/Cleveland no longer exist. Also, I knew a guy from Middlesbrough who would blow his top if you told him he wasn’t a Yorkshireman - he was fiercely proud of being one.

Middlesbro is in the ceremonial county of Yorkshire.

Hull has always been in Yorks apart from 1974-1993 when it formed part of the now disbanded county of Humberside.

I think people are understandably confused because Humberside Fire, ambulance and police services still exist and serve the former Humberside area.

The reason is that the govt decided it would be too costly to alter it back again.

As a geographical area, Humberside has always existed.  But not politically any more.
