The only way it'll survive (in a pro sense or as is) is to play it behind closed doors based on a sustainable rebooted model. I think those hoping for football to survive in its current state may be clinging to a vain hope no matter what, I'm afraid. In a move to be discussed between the league and its clubs this week, the proposal would necessitate that any money owed to playing staff be paid before a club could add to their squad or increase the collective wage bill. The concept of an embargo originated with the Professional Footballers’ Association, which gives it a good chance of succeeding. I'm wondering if there is any will for some clubs to walk away from the efl full stop. There is going to be a massive race to the bottom. It's actually quite funny to watch. I do feel for a lot of smaller clubs who've struggled to keep their heads above water in the artificially-inflated economies created by the top levels of the game for the past few decades, though. It may be an option that as a gesture where the club gift any "refund money" to the local NHS. 20k x £100 = £2m. Obviously it could never be universal.. EFL (orginastion) is only as strong as the number of clubs it represents. In reality it dosnt matter in the grand scheme of things. Footballs got some huge issues it needs to resolve now.
