Saw this on Twitter.

Pick your world best XI.

Rules are:

- you have to have been alive to see them actually play

- none of the players can have played for the same club(s)

- none of the players can be of the same nationality...

Enjoy...

So seeing clips of them on TV (when originally before you were born) doesn’t count?

And nor does stuff you can’t remember live (ie. when you were about 2/3)?

F*** me this is harder than it looks

Alessandro Nesta

Virgil Van Dijk

Phillip Lahm

Kevin De Bruyne

Michel Platini

Eusabio

George Best

Lionel Messi

Pele

Dont think i,ve ballsed up ??

I think you're good.

The ones that kept catching me out were the Italian players or those who play in Serie A.

Unlike other countries, it is reasonably common for the top players to have played for or being on the books at some point of all the big clubs.

You look at Zlatan and he had spells with Inter, Juve and AC.

Same with Pirlo.

Basically, you had to have been alive when they played and, ideally, seen them play at some point, whether on tv, in the flesh etc.

So no, if you're 25, you cant chuck in Pele.

If you're in your mid-30s you could put old Diego in though...

Jeez this is hard, was happy until I had to take Van Basten out as both he and Maldini played for Milan.

Hopefully this qualifies?

Probably not solid enough with only 3 at the back but I plan on keeping the ball in midfield

Peter Schmeichel (Den)

Roland Nilsson (Swe)
Paolo Maldini (Ita)
Philipp Lahm (Ger)

Socrates (Bra)
David Silva (Esp)
Zinedine Zidane (Fra)
Dragan Stojković (Yug/Ser)
Paul Gascoigne (Eng)

Lionel Messi (Arg)
Dennis Bergkamp (Ned)

Brilliantly, when I saw the original tweet (for this) I didn't read the rules properly.

So there I am trying to put together a team with players who haven't played for the same club(s), which is tough enough in itself.

So many top European players have featured for the top clubs in Spain, Italy etc.

Think i've cracked it, read the rules again, and realised they can't be from the same country too!

:duntmatter:
