Was Maddix really that bad? I don't remember him as a world-beater, but not worst ever XI material?

Ashley Westwood on the other hand...

I remember Maddix looking really good when we had him on trial and he was playing for a contract. Once he'd signed a contract it looked like we'd signed his twin brother who had his feet attached to the wrong legs.

Andy Pearce was a solid , basic defender who could head and kick it and was ok at prem level. How can anyone put him into this line up ahead of Van aken ?!

Sorry but thought Pearce was rubbish, not saying Van Aken is a world class.

Adamson

Hendon

Westwood

Aranalde

Bestwetherick

Others;

Maddix

Carr

Branston

Tidman

Pound for pound, Jon bestwetherick was probably the worst player I’ve seen in a Wednesday shirt. Hendon and Westwood continually made mistakes which would result in a goal. Absolute calamities.

Chris adamson was the worst keeper. Brad Jones was poor and unbelievably has played matches for several decent sides though . Ola tidman wasn’t awful yet made a career . Adamson was hands down the worst goalkeeper I’ve seen play professionally , not just for Wednesday

Spot on.

Lived on his looks.

Take them away, and he had nothing.

Very harsh on Otsemobor, O’Donnell and Hinds.

Hinds was unspectacular and average. O’Donnell had some good games and some shockers. Otsemobor was blighted by injury, but had a couple of handy games in our promotion season and  nowhere close to the worst right back list.

Mine would be:

Brad Jones

Chris Carr - I remember that QPR game vividly. Hauled off at half time?

Deji Oshilaja (not mentioned but played twice on loan from Cardiff - every time he wanted to chest the ball to control it he almost knelt down on the ground. Was a bizarre player to watch and we conceded 4 in the two games he played without reply)

Guy Branston - the best move made in the 04/05 promotion season was to finally drop him)

Jon Beswetherick - cult hero for the wrong reasons.

These threads always drag up similar names..... I’m not sure the people commenting have even seen these players in the flesh. Anyone putting the likes of bullen, crossley, bywater are clearly suffering as a result of lockdown.

Agreed
