alanharper
We signed Holton in the summer of 1981 - so if he'd avoided injury and been even an average sort of player for us, chances are that we'd never have signed Mick Lyons the following summer. Sliding doors and that. Jim Holton was only 30 when we signed him but he never played a senior game of football again. Died in 1993 aged just 42, RIP
roaminowl
I remember him playing against us for Man Utd in 1974. Broke his leg.

Bearwood Owl1
There was an interesting biography published of him last year https://www.amazon.co.uk/Six-Foot-Two-Eyes-Blue/dp/1909360635 Starts with a description of his leg break in the 4-4 at Hillsborough between the Owls and Manchester United in 1974.
