Not a lot though, only 13 entertainment channels which aren't free to air otherwise.

Catch up plays only a fraction of the free to air streaming of other providers. Again, they charge more for on demand which plays slightly more, but not all other providers free to air content.

Movies ok for a short time, but soon get bored of endless repeats.

Their business is built around sport, of which there is none at the moment.

Agreed. but they will still be more than alright when this is all over.

So to put it bluntly the EPL players taking a 30% pay cut will save £500m to use elsewhere and cost the NHS not a lot, as most of them don t pay anywhere near the 40% tax that Gordon Taylor quoted.

The funny thing is National Insurance is the only part traditionally that went to education and the Nhs and that nowhere near 40%.

Time for the EPL and the EFL to get real, players take some of the pain or furlough every last one of them on £2,500 a month. They cannot currently do their job.

£2,500 figure is the maximum by the government, it is not 80% of everyone's salary but does equate to £30,000 a year. A wage A lot of people would be happy to be on.

I too dont think footballers pay anywhere near the tax levels on whole earnings.

In a past life had a number of players as clients, many at the higher levels administered through a limited company and paid tax as a director/employee, after 'expenses' deducted.

Sheffield Wednesday have yet to approach their players over taking wage deferrals because of the coronavirus crisis.

One national newspaper claimed the Owls want to delay paying their players half their salary during the shutdown.

But Yorkshire Live understands that Wednesday have not taken that action.

Several Championship clubs are thought to be waiting for guidance from the English Football League, with football on hold indefinitely due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Birmingham City became the first Championship club to ask their players to take wage deferrals last week. Those earning more than £6,000 per week have been asked to take a 50 per cent cut for the next four months.

The Owls, who have not played a match since March 7, placed a "significant" number of their non-playing staff on furlough last week. Staff will receive 80 per cent of their salary through the government's job retention scheme, with Wednesday chairman Dejphon Chansiri pledging to make up the difference.

A Wednesday statement, released last Tuesday, read: "In the best interests of all staff and to help safeguard the future of the club, a significant number of employees are being furloughed as part of the government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.

"Remaining staff are working from home, with the main stadium and training ground locked down.

"The job retention scheme guarantees 80% of regular remuneration up to £2,500 per month but SWFC chairman Dejphon Chansiri has pledged all furloughed members of staff will continue to receive full salary.

"The landscape will be reviewed at the end of April as we digest fresh information on an almost daily basis in this fast-paced environment."
