The old Leppings Lane stand

I stood up there to watch the quarter final replay against Burnley in 83 ? We won 5 -1 I think.

Me too. It was that busy I think it was the only place I could get in.

Yep that's the reason I ended up there.

Stood in the old North West covered standing bit the season before it was demolished. Always said they should never have taken away the last covered standing areas. In my opinion in 1964 they could have built a covered standing area similar to what they did at Leeds a couple of years later. If they had done it big enough and extended it as there was plenty of room at the back it could have held 15k fans and we could have made it the home end. Never understood the obsession with Eric Taylor for seats.

I don't think it was an obsession more that he could see that seating was the future and very few clubs since then have knocked  down a terrace and replaced it with another one …….Hillsboro in the 60/70/80/90s was one of the best stadiums in the country which is why it got so many top games . maybe taylor can be criticised on the playing front but ground development I think not .

That crowd. Did they all exit via Leppings Lane?

I beg to disagree. Killed the atmosphere as well. Was not thought through properly but thats just my opinion for what its worth.
