It may mean we've lost the arbitration but if we have, there's still got to be a hearing and only if we lose this will we face a penalty.

thanks, i was under the impression that clubs could not defend a hearing once the charge was found to be lawful but could appeal the outcome

Me too Owlstalk was/is looking to prolong the saga. Worry not Owlstalk, we can do that with defamation of carachter/hurt feelings, financial damage to the club and damage to our progress through the league structure; You can settle out of court if you wish but it will cost and it will hurt ! Up The Boro'  :tango:

I interpret it as there is sufficient evidence to charge the club with financial wrongdoing and punish us accordingly.

The SWFC statement, the first paragraph in bold, it is designed to indicate a victory for the club.

But this announcement definitely isn’t.

Exactly

What if we whup them on the charges against the club?

They'll be jumping off buildings or licking hand rails!

Probably get back to moaning about ticket pricing, quality of football, getting spanked 5-0 every week, shirt prices, league position, current form, our record in the transfer market, why players are frozen out etc etc etc etc

etc

OK let me put it simply, as I say I'm not a legal bod.

A boy walks past your front garden and bangs a brick through your window.

The police arrest a boy and charge him with criminal damage.

At court the judge proclaims there is insufficient evidence to obtain a conviction.

The police immediately leave the court building and arrest the brick.

Ultimately any further charge has to be against individual or individuals acting on behalf of the club. If not Mr Chansiri, Ms Meire and Mr Redgate   then who ?

Chargers against Chansiri et al are being dropped, the club is still facing charges for breaking FFP and is still looking at a points deduction.

This is a VERY encouraging first step but it is just that, a first step.

If we do go on to beat the EFL then all credit to Dejphon Chansiri, I’ve criticised him as have others but if we avoid a points deduction then I think there are plenty of fans like me who will need to eat a decent slice of humble pie.

It won’t make everything at the club rosey but it’ll be a start and it’ll mean that we are a Championship club next season rather than a league 1 club.

Presumably, it will mean that any points deduction if any will be reduced from the 35 points plus being talked about on social.media? The only thing it seems that is being looked into is FFP which is usually a 9 points (?) deduction. As others have said with what seems like a good knowledge of such things, it's difficult to dispute a valuation if its been made by an independent valuer with the relevant qualifications
