Championship Clubs may temp cap wages at £6000 a week

How can they do it? The contracts are between club and player , the EFL aren't party to those contracts.

Players could challenge it and win. Maybe players with long term contracts might accept it. Why would players out of contract this summer?

If wages are reduced, players could call it breach of contract and walk out.

Desperation from the clubs but a lot are owned by multimillionaires.

That wouldn't be a bad thing, as things stand for us.

Disgusting really how can they expect them to live on 6000 nicker a week?  Hopefully the government will top up their salary’s via universal credit.

Why tempary, make it permanent

I'm living off 94£ a week because no one cares about self employed

I'm not self employed and I'm on  £94 a week while ever I self isolate. The government says that I should do it for 12 weeks, my employer says it's my choice but if I do it then all I'm entitled to is ssp .

They have contracts and let's be honest unless there is a clause in there, it ain't happening unless they make a 'request' to player to do so who then agree.
