Jordan Rhodes value plummets

The term has-been comes to mind.

I also think it is a sad statement that he doesn’t appear to have sought out an alternative employer in the hope of resurrecting his career. If he took a 50% pay cut he’d still probably gross £700 a year.

And people say he’s a lovely fella.

I think it's disgusting that Jordan Rhodes,

(A lovely fella) as you say,  is only paid  £1400 per year....

It's not even the minimum wage.

Poor Bloke !

Even if you consider him a "has-been"

He is undoubtedly being Exploited.....

Justice and a FAIR WAGE for Jordan, that's what I say !

lol

The games I've seen him play in (Forest apart) he's had absolutely zero influence on the game, starting with 10 men would have been more beneficial.

And in MANY games he was hopeless. I agree.

But in partnership with Fletcher he has been anything but, and the team have been excellent. It has worked.

Take away the 3goals scored at Nottingham and it paints a less optimistic picture

Here you go. I’ve taken Forest out (though it’s odd to do so)

14 team goals in 532 minutes.
Fletcher 8 goals.

Rhodes 4 goals.

Flippin optimistic by any measure.

How exactly did the fans call for us to sign Rhodes?

Letters to the chairman?

Ringing up the club switchboard and overloading it with phone calls for us to sign him?

Doesn't add up

Whatsapped him by all accounts

"Or8 Chansiri, can u sign Rhodez plz. Get him 4 about 10 mill. Nice 1 m8"

So you concede he has no interest in resurrecting his career.

I'm sure he'd love too but not if it's going to cost him 50% of what he can earn for the next 15 months.......I dont for 1 second blame  him either coz I certainly wouldnt give up 15 grand a week .

Why would you stop doing something you enjoy and are good at to hoard money that you don't need?

I dont hoard it I spend it but I wouldnt be able to spend as much if my income was cut by 50% ......I cant speak for rhodes but he'll  be a long time retired so probably wants to earn as much as he can

That's the player that he's been throughout his career. He isn't going to grab the game by the scruff of the neck, win lots of headers like Fletcher, he doesn't have pace but he has scored goals playing his game, in the box as a poacher, as stated earlier in this post, we've not utilised that correctly, Since CC brought him in and he would chuck him on up front on his own and we then would launch the ball up to him expecting him to do a Nuhiu/Fletcher role. In this modern day 1 up front tactic, Rhodes is non-existent and it is like playing with 10 men but when he's upfront playing off a targetman that's more his game Our system of play since Rhodes signed has not benefited him one bit!

Problem is as a fan base we moan when he or Winnall is selected and if it doesn't work within 60 minutes then it shouldn't happen again all season and we should change it immediately, if we gave them a run of games together they'd both get us goals.

Surely the notion of "income" is ludicrous for a multi millionaire?

I don't understand.

No he's not, but that won't stop peeps posting believing he is.

Didn't DC once say, no one at Sheffield Wednesday is on more than 35k per week?

But then I suppose that's just the basic, there will be bonuses for goals, game time, promotion, top 6 etc...

so yep, you is prob right..

What information is the thing you've posted based on?

He 100% isn't on £50k a week.

We can't give him away because of his wages, he has no value whatsoever.

We should take the kick to the nuts and make an offer to cancel his contract. Might cost £1 million or something but would be worth it in the long run because he won't go anywhere on reduced wages and we will end up paying more than that in the long run to have his miserable face moping round training for the next 6 months at least.

What is it , 5 different managers have looked at him and decided he doesn't deserve a place in the team ?

And before all the rubbish about us ' not giving him a proper run' ' playing to strengths' , I have never witnessed , in 40 odd years of watching SWFC, a player given so many chances and pandered to so much in formations and line ups.

Those saying he shouldn't take a wage cut ..fair enough, but that makes him a greedy git who doesn't care about his career or this club. He's not going to starve on £8 -£10k a week is he? .

Quite possibly Sheffield Wednesdays worse ever signing.

This is the only line I really disagree with from what you posted above.

Expecting a player to ditch their wages for their love of the club, or any other reason is misguided at the very least.
