@owlstalk
It's been known for a while that the chairman has been doing the occasional team talks. A good idea? Worth continuing with? Owlstalk Shop
northeastowl
Just goes to show how much of a joke the club has become under his stewardship. The chairman shouldn’t be in the changing room before or during a game as it completely undermines his manager, let him do the job he’s paid to do. Keekeedee
Not a good idea. In fact, it's embarrassing.

vulva
It’s worth a try, but looking at performances, my initial thoughts are that we should maybe try something else.

If they don't respect the manager they aren't likely to listen to someone with no football background. I know it will more likely have been the odd pep talk rather than tactics but still think it is more likely to be a negative than a positive in the immediacy before a game. If the owner wants to speak directly to the players he ought to explain this to the manager first and do it in a formal meeting away from match day. Mrmason69
I suspect he's doing more than just team talks. I shan't say. I told you so.
sonofbert2
It is a well known fact that our best runs have coincided with DC being in the country. It’s a shame he can’t be in the country all year round ‘cause he’d definitely get us up.
Womble Owl
Mr motivator could do a team talk and still not get a performance out of this lot.

ChinaOwl
Is there any real evidence that he is? I am not doubting it but all that I have heard is that snippet from Ross Wallace. That's hardly a team talk. That sounds like an angry, frustrated, emotional man that burst in to add his ten penneth. Are there any other concrete examples?
