kristmace
No surprise. Gives countries more time to potentially finish the domestic season too.
owls maniac
Bugger. Had tickets for this. But it makes sense as there is no way we could complete the domestic season otherwise.
matthefish2002
Seems a sensible decision and good they made it fairly early.
BIG D
Honestly not bothered and I usually love the Summer tournaments.
talon
Thinking about the ramifications of this...... Euros in 2021 means that there are fewer options to extend next season, which means that starting next season on time becomes more important. This further limits the possibility of finishing this season, IF the shutdown continues into the summer months.
Big Jack
No way the domestic seasons will be completed, unless its behind close doors. This virus is going to be running the show, sadly for many months to come, is my guess.
yeadonowl
domestic season can be completed behind closed doors. not sure where it stands legally to have a match played without emergency services there but with no fans there surely they can just play the game abandon the end of season play offs and make it 3 up 3 down next season can always start early September, abolish the EFL and EFL Trophy for next season to allow for more midweek league game, No FA Cup Replays at all. the play offs for next season can also be abandoned for one season and a simple 3 up 3 down replaces this for next season only. Season can then finish mid May for Euros to start mid to end June

Next season could be fizzed too. I move a lot of concrete on the QVC.
Matt_1
I expect Hillsbrough to become a fortress behind closed doors.
TaffOwl
Simply take the table at the half way point, maybe 25th Dec and then forget about all other games played. Seems fair to me as everybody will have played each other once. Also because we can’t play the playoffs simply let the third place team go up. Wonder who was 3rd on the 25th
Guest Grez Bez
I really hope they just wipe this season whilst ensuring the Blades get relegated too....
The Night-Owl
Unsurprising but anyone expecting the season to be completed in its place are in fantasy land. Because we haven't hit the peak of the virus yet. Some player contracts will be up and players need a pre-season too before next season starts too. I doubt we'll see any football again this year. It's highly likely that this season will have to be cancelled, null and void. Whenever football can resume, football should just restart the season afresh, like they did after the war years. Paul..
2021? No chance, don't think we'll be fully over this by then.
the third man
That means there can be no extension to next season so that just about writes off this season as there will be no time to finish this season and have a full season on 20 /
Mr. Chow
Hopefully a fit Harry Kane next season
