I remember Pleat used to keep getting lost around Havelock Square.

When he got caught out, didn’t he say he was looking for a fish and chip shop that was open?

It was some daft reason for driving about in Havelock Square, late at night, at 10 mph anyhow.

Or maybe he just got the rough end of the deal at Monty’s Motors? The worst car in the showroom?

The thing that sticks with me about DiCanio and Carbone and that era is just how many fans fell for the ‘fancy dan’s’ comment from the club about them.

These fans adopted the same attitude (they weren’t saying it before the club labelled them) and still to this day trot out that mantra about two of our best ever footballers

Shows just how gullible many of our fans are to adopting/believing/repeating things that come out of the club instead of having their own personal opinions on things

Could you imagine the online ranting about stereotyping and demanding an apology and the photographer being hung if it was released today . Best era for shirts , better than the skin tight only suit gym lovers we have today . Back then we let the opposition worry about us rather than extolling the threat of everyone we play we have now . Mind you Halifax's under fives could take the game to us these days WTF:
