By definition a pandemic is worldwide. Just saying.

Declaring a pandemic has nothing to do with changes to the characteristics of a disease, but is instead associated with concerns over its geographic spread. According to the World Health Organization, a pandemic is declared when a new disease for which people do not have immunity spreads around the world beyond expectations.

Just saying.

What matchday income...

:Chansiri:

Presumable we get income from the food, drink, program sellers, onsite betting etc. It won't be as much as the tickets but will still be some income. Not to mention the match by match sponsorship.

Void the season now and Liverpool don't win, United don't get Europe, Leeds don't get promoted and we stay up. Jobs a good 'un.

Even if it's delayed for a month or two and the season gets completed during the summer, it's still going to make it tougher for pigs in the run-in - e.g. Spurs will have Kane and Son back from injury, Man Utd will have Rashford, etc.

but what about poor Leeds? It'd be a shame for the season to be void.

Meanwhile, we're about to go on the longest unbeaten run we've recorded this decade.

In three weeks time we’ll be equal top of the current form league.

Will D-Taxis and Elev8 demand a refund for lost commercial opportunties? :Chansiri:

And the pigs' best ever season will drift into oblivion. garymegson

They'd take 7th now if it meant Europa cup qualification. Problem is they need the FA cup winner to be one of the top six, and it's looking like the FA cup might also be cancelled, or pushed into June/July. The Europa qualifying rounds start around this time normally so they'd be no pre-season.

Would it count though if the season were cancelled?

A thread  has been removed twice asking for help as below.

Just thought if there are any doctors on here and they were generous enough to donate a few minutes of their time to help Owlstalk members with some advice it was providing a community service.

Obviously moderators don't agree.

People on here WILL get the virus.

Some will not know what can be done to relieve the symptoms.

Owlstalk should be looking to help wherever possible

THIS SITE IS NOT, AND NEVER WILL BE A SOURCE OF MEDICAL ADVICE OR INFORMATION

ALWAYS

ALWAYS

ALWAYS SEEK ADVICE FROM A PROPER DOCTOR OR CALL THE NHS HELPLINE

Was this planned at last night's cosy meeting with Chansiri?

Gives us time to get a few back from injury, but still not long enough to teach some of our silly boys how to tackle and contain play better. Hopefully we can regroup after this.

On the bigger picture, 300K to 650K people die every year from flu, despite all the vaccines out there, yet so far less than 5K have died from Cor-19. How are these precautions going to protect the vulnerable ones? People are still going to be wandering around with the virus after the 4th of April, so what's the point? We can still catch it and pass it on to each other after this point, so it all just gets drawn out and the likelihood of catching it and passing it to somebody who is vulnerable increases, unless the vulnerable ones lock themselves away for a year!

The idea is to smooth out the curve of people getting it, giving the NHS more time to get more beds available etc

Neil is right, this is not about preventing you from getting it, it’s about preventing you from getting it right now (and for as long as possible).

Every person that unnecessarily contracts the virus in the coming weeks could very well be contributing to potential avoidable deaths.

Your statement is a bit confusing. Nobody choses to get the virus. Are we supposed to wait to catch it?

That's  a genuine question. I'm in the vulnerable category so would be interested to know what I should do.

Are you a real doctor?

My point was that no advice has been given about what to do if you contract the symptoms other than self isolating to relieve whatever you might be feeling.

The only advice you should get on this mate is from the NHS or your doctor
