Callum Hudson Odoi has tested positive for coronavirus. Playing behind closed doors or a delay to season and cancelling euro 2020 until next year is looking highly likely now. Premier league chiefs having emergency meeting this morning regarding fixtures. Tomorrow's game could possibly be the last we see for a while at Hillsborough if it continues at this rate..

Bigger picture time, personally I think our government is under playing this. We've seen other countries with similar infection rates getting to a point where they are in full lock down. Why don't we lock down now and try to lower the rate? That would save more lives surely.

Remember the little Lord dude from shrek? 'Some of you may die but that's a price I'm willing to pay.'

On the football front, not sure if we'll bother tomorrow. Little un says he's a bit wary of attending so it's under discussion. The club have had our money, the players don't need or care about our support at the moment obviously so we might give it a miss. Personally I think all games should be off and we should be taking it all more seriously. Arteta and Hudson Odoi testing positive could force the Premier league's hand. If it does it'd be insane to carry on with other league games.

The approach in the UK is designed to delay it spreading, not stop it spreading. We would rather have the peak in the summer rather than end of winter / early spring basically to take pressure off the NHS at what is already a busy time of year.

Indeed.

Yet they get slated.

Damned if they do, dammed if they dont

If anyone REALLY listened to yesterday's PM broadcast, several very salient points were made .

The first was IMO the most significant. This is a NEW virus,to which No-one is immune. They already believe that the number of people suffering is far higher than the number of confirmed cases. The delay part of the tactic is to move or even flatten out the peak until the NHS  can cope with the increase. There is no prevention, and the idea is to reduce the immediate effect , and make it more manageable

How often is the phrase 'personal space' used, but yet that is what is needed..

Close contact is the worst culprit for spreading, and I honestly believe that we as a nation, have not yets seen the speed at which this can spread, or even its effects.

The main thing is that WE DO NOT KNOW, and that includes the top brains, what sort of effect this is going to have on any of us.
