Not from me.

It would still have been irresponsibility of the grandest scale with no regard for those tens of thousands of us invested in the club's welfare, reputation and status.

Not if he wins.

We start the next three years showing money to spend.

And the only one out of pocket will be DC with his £57M loss.

Throw the whole case in the bin

we don’t know what we’re doing, the EFL seem to have no idea too. If they had anything of substance on us surely the process would be much further down the line by now

Indeed.

The motives for the likes of Middlesbrough and Hull are plain enough. Wonder if they'd be campaigning quite so hard if we were on 75 points?

Middlesbrough were angry last season when Derby and us were pushing for the play offs.

I must admit the arbitration case dragging on like it is suggests to me that neither sides case is clear cut & even if we lose there will be identified mitigating circumstances to take to the EFL disciplinary panel.

However I might also be clutching at a very thin piece of straw.

The only people who are prepared to accept a deduction and / or relegation, despite the ongoing case, are clearly people who are already anti DC. Who want him teaching a lesson & punishing for his mistakes in the past. I get that, up to a point.

But, this directly punishes the club we all support, and we all suffer, as a result. So, I'm all for fighting it until the death.

Relegation won't get rid of DC. He'll struggle even more to find a buyer. Can't people see this? We'll lose tv money & fail to attract any quality players to replace the out of contract exodus.

If the EFL charges are deemed unlawful, they've dropped a right clanger.

Let's hope they are. We survive this season and start the next one on zero.

Monday Night viewing. All on BBC 2.

Mastermind

Only Connect

University Challenge

Monday afternoon - Round Britain Quiz, Radio 4 - but I podcast that, listened today.

But I did swap over to watch bits of Leicester v Villa.

What were you doing? Fixing someone’s phone?

:tango:

Only Connect gives me a headache, delighted if I get 1 or 2 right before the last round! Bit of a University Challenge expert though! lol

I got some dog connection from Baskervilles but didn’t get the dead connection and I don’t recall Atticus Finch shooting a dog. Brutal!

She proper made us laugh with ‘the more I hear about that guy...’ Hitler thing.

Will have a listen to the Round Britain Quiz, cheers.

only on Owlstalk could a thread about  ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ and Radio 4 podcasts run concurrently with a debate on points deductions.

lol

Am I reading this right - that we could’ve ‘just’ taken the 9 point hit without all the (additional) drama and messing about with the ground.

The article suggests we would have fallen into the -12 points bracket and unfortunately we'd have still been racking up the rolling 3 year losses without some form of huge income.

the Barrister saying he 'represented' us on his website even though the arbitration case is apparently still running then removing it  tells me something I just wish I knew what it was it may of course mean he's been fired as well who knows ?

We're becoming one of those grubby clubs that I was always glad we weren't. Pushing the rules to their limits, being unco-operative, not holding ourselves to a higher standard. What a shameful episode in the club's history that at the moment looks likely to result in relegation.

Incompetence of the most heinous kind.

Some good it did us!

Just not bothered...

Somebody who wants the club owner to be punished for his dealings, despite the fact that it puts the club they support into a lower league.

Weird.

I’d settle for a 9 point deduction and Chansiri getting banned. That way we can still avoid relegation.

Some people might think that would also give us a fighting chance of ridding ourself of a bloke who is potentially highly detrimental to our future. I couldn’t possibly comment.

We usually get about 2 questions right during Only Connect. Get a few more in the general knowledge section of Mastermind. And less on UC.

It always tickles me when someone gets about 4 right on their specialist subject on MM.  I get the impression they just revised a bit on the bus going there.

ps  Victoria Coren - Mitchell is bloody lovely.
