I think the biggest challenge for the chairman now is

I think the biggest challenge for the chairman right now is that we are in a position this season where the answer ISN’T to throw money at it.

In fact there’s no real way he CAN throw money at it to fix

That’s the challenge for him.

Throwing cash at problems is something he is very familiar with and knows how to do.

This is where football knowledge, experience, nous, a streetwise outlook, and man management come into play.

On top of that there needs to be a huge communication strategy to keep fans quiet/happier during tough times too.

He can’t/isn’t allowed to throw money at it this season to stop the rot, stop the losses, and keep us up.

The biggest challenge is finding a buyer who will pay him as close to his asking price as is possible.

That asking price is heading south with every step closer to League one we take.

I think that the biggest challenge is the real threat of relegation to League 1.

Total financial meltdown would ensue.

This would be brought on by a drastic fall in ticket and TV revenue, plus a serious loss of income from memberships, catering and merchandise sales, etc.

Under Monk survival is looking seriously in jeopardy and with a points deduction it is pretty much a lost cause.

If I were Chairman I would fire Monk immediately and bring in a Survival specialist on a short term deal.

Staying up in the Championship then everyone can regroup in the summer including the Chairman who can decide if he wishes to sell the club or not.

Throwing money at SWFC is what has happened over the last 50 years, the problem is/was that the money was thrown at the wrong areas of the club, namely the 1st team squad ONLY showing only short term planning.

What DC can do now is either sell the club, and we hope some one comes in with the RIGHT ideas, or plan for the long term and invest in the infrastructure of the club. Invest in better coaches, scouts and training fascility's at the development stage. Improve the training area's

You do not have to spend fortunes building up a good squad of players, look at clubs like Dem Blunts, Brentford etc. Buy and sell.

OFFICIAL CLUB STATEMENT

Fellow Owls

We are in difficult seas. Our problems with the EFL are well documented, and time will tell if that will lead to a points deduction, a deduction that could well threaten our Championship status

Regardless of whether that status will be maintained, it is clear that our clubs approach is unsustainable given the current rules of FFP, which incorrectly favour clubs with parachute payments. We will continue to challenge that rule, but also recognise there are other factors that must change in order for us to re-establish this great club in the Premier League, a goal which I'm sure we all share.

FFP rules do not prevent us from investment in our academy, or our stadium. I'm today announcing a change of direction for our club.

We will purpose build a new academy, and it will be the best in Yorkshire. We will invest in new pitches, accommodation and leisure facilities that will make our academy one of the very best in the country in order to attract the best prospects from all over the UK.

We will invest heavily in our scouting infrastructure.

And we will develop the players to deliver our goal, to supplement the first team players we will continue to invest in within the FFP guidelines.

In addition, today I'm announcing that the entire West Stand structure will be demolished this summer and replaced with a new purpose built modern stand to accommodate home fans. This stand will be one of the most modern built in the region and will be the first phase in a redevelopment of Hillsborough to ready it for our return to the Premier League. Once complete, the next phase will be the replacement of the Kop with an identical structure.

All of the above investment will have no impact on our clubs FFP calculation, but we believe it will demonstrate our firm long term commitment to the future of our club.

This process will not be an overnight success. I hope you will be patient with us while we deliver it, and continue to be the very best supporters you can be.

Be patient not just with me, as I continue to learn what makes a quality chairman. But be patient with our young players who will be the future of our club. Encourage them, don't berate them when they make a mistake

Together, we can all work together to deliver our future as a long term addition to the Premier League

But divided, it is unlikely we will ever return

We are all Wednesday. Aren't we?

A much better letter would be

dear owls

i have banged all my cash on tippy tappers like abdi and ff and they have done the square root of zip in return for the many millions I have paid them. The time has come to reset.

i will release all out of contract players with one noteable exception at the end of this season. I will sign.

1. a horrible goalie who can catch and save and who will berate poorly playing defenders

2.  Two massive horrible centre backs who will make Robert huth look like kylie minogue

3.a new central midfield who can’t pass, but will run all day and foul

4.  Renew the contract of a Nuhiu and partner him with a new striker who is even bigger

5. Instruct the manager to batter it long, keep the grass on the pitch long and run them in the woods at every opportunity.

6.  Scrap all other initiatives including the academy.

see you in the premier league !!

Don’t know why people expect big investment in facilities and what not.. he isn’t a billionaire and can’t afford it. If anything he’s likely close to his limit on how much he can put in

We also absolutely do need someone to throw money at it... because the squad has seen no quality added to it for 3 years. All of our better players are still from the play off team and they’re getting over the hill. Building a new team will cost serious money otherwise we’re going to go back to scraping along in the lower half of the table.

So big money needs to be spent to make us competitive.. there’s a difference though between spending it wisely and wasting it on past it players with big wages

Unfortunately, the lesson that DC needed to learn before he came to buy Sheffield Wednesday was difficult to understand, for a man that comes from a family and a country where he has been brought up to understand that money can buy you anything you want, but understand absolutely nothing whatsoever about football, never mind Sheffield Wednesday and the rules and regulations of the EFL!

Whatever football contacts that he has used up to now need to be dropped. All of them. Nobody whatsoever at the club has given him any advice whatsoever, including the recent legal advice, that has been helpful towards our short term, or long term future. Everybody that has come in and "helped" him so far have done so for money, the advisers, the lawyers, the businessmen and a lot of the players. Also, the sooner that DC realises that his money spending is the problem and not the solution, the better.

I have seen much better organised clubs in my son's none professional league, which are all well run by parents who are people that care about their club/team enough to give their time and expertise to run the clubs smoothly and efficiently (for a small club profit), so that the team can concentrate only on the quality of the football. Whether the teams do well then relies totally on the quality of the coaches, the chemistry between them and the players and the quality and determination of the players.

Unfortunately our junior team had problems with disruptive influences within the team and five or six players left the team in the summer, including the two disruptive players, who were dropped for as many of the remaining games as they could be, last season as we still needed to field a team. The parents players and coaches all understood why, because we all communicated with each other well and understood that the teams problems were nothing to do with the coaches, they gave their feedback to the parents, who backed them to the hilt, but the results had already suffered last season (and they were not so good early on this season when the new players first came in). Now despite having a few players of lesser quality, skill wise, the team are playing much better as a team, are enjoying their football much more and hopefully can go on next season to push for promotion. I know that this has nothing at all to do with SWFC, but I take heart in the fact, that despite all our son's teams shortcomings last season, the support from the parents for the coaches meant that we could have a fresh start this season and despite a few quality players leaving too, we now have players that want to play for us, for the right reasons. Some of the better players that left have realised that the grass is not always greener and want to come back next season, but whatever happens, I know that with Wednesday, just like with my son's team, if DC can get people in place, who know what they are doing and care for the club, and let them run things so that the coaches and players can concentrate on the football, we will have a good chance and a brighter future than we have right now.

Number One: Let Monk forthwith have sole control of the footballing side of the business and to appoint backroom staff capable of assisting in a rebuild.

If Monk stays we’re going down.. we need fresh ideas ASAP. The only thing we can do between now and the end of the season is get rid of him

Was cautiously optimistic that’s the way we were going with Bruce here.. could tell he’d expect full control over all footballing matters. No idea what the deal is under Monk but can see he’s not the right guy for us

You’re arguing against your own logic here

Youre hunting Bruce has his own team and full control of the footballing side of things then saying Monk needs replacing despite having none of those

Well I think Monk should have refused to accept the job without having control over that as clearly Bruce would have insisted on it. My view is that Monk has had his hands tied somewhat but even still I don’t see enough there to justify keeping him.. think if we gave him those things we’d still end up needing to get rid of him plus then have the expense of getting rid of his backroom team too. Would rather we cut our losses and start afresh

That's the problem I've got with it. Monk is on a hiding to nothing here. He is being judged on a situation that he should not be operating under. Deal with the root cause of the problem before questioning whether Monk is the right man to execute the plan.

'This is where football knowledge, experience, nous, a streetwise outlook, and man management come into play'

So which of these qualities does the Pound Shop Prince have?

None. In fact do the Glaziers or the bloke at Man City or the Americans at Liverpool?

That's because the game is  about Managers and Players having 'football knowledge, experience, nous, a streetwise outlook, and man management'.

For Chairmen its about having money and business sense and luck...… Chansiri has 1 out of 3.
