Aren't they on lockdown too?

Essentially we should be doing the same - as said above, the government will hold off until it's desperately real there is a big issue here - in which we could end up with millions in isolation for 14 days, rather than trying to shut up shop and stop the spread now by minimising all but essential gatherings and movement.

well we need about 26c to kill it off as coronavirus cant survive in hot weather . so does that mean us all staying indoors till say june then  and under house arrest like Italy? bloody crazy . its a bad virus yes lets isolate the frail and elderly and look after them , but remember thousands and thousands sadly die every winter from the many virus`s out there.

total rubbish ,50 million in uk wont get it .look at china there already seeing a drop in cases , we are starting to enter spring so it wont be as bad as if it was November entering the winter , when the temp hits 25-26c the virus cant survive so by may/june it might have just about have  gone . I get this coronavirus  is serious but ive worked with old people before and know that any bad virus/flu can kill them if there frail, over the winter months far more elderly people die than in the summer months due to the virus`s what we get every winter. what should be happening is what can be done to protect the over 65s and the ones who are frail or who have medical conditions . shutting schools for instance is just pointless. some restrictions should happen yes but whats going to happen is madness ,Italy you cant go out of front door what the hell!

China are seeing a drop in cases because they realised how serious a threat this was, and initiated an unprecedented quarantine on an entire region, built two(!!!!) 1000 bed hospitals, and introduced stringent controls throughout the rest of the country.

They bought time for the rest of us, but quite frankly dangerous views, scarily similar to yours actually, have pervaded by the people in charge throughout Europe and the US, and we have squandered that time.

This isn't just a bad cold or flu, there's a huge disparity of symptoms, most will have mild issues, but as many as 20% of cases require hospital treatment, which overwhelmingly means viral Pneumonia, which means Intensive Care and Ventilators, something which this country is in short supply of. Purchasing ventilators now is going to be extremely difficult, as every country on earth will be attempting to do the same. Not all the people who require hospital treatment will be the elderly or unwell either, they're just the ones at a disadvantage when fighting the infection.

There's a first hand account from a doctor in Italy doing the rounds, you should read it: https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-italian-doctor-says-fighting-covid-19-outbreak-is-like-war-11954229

Also, there's absolutely no evidence that this Coronavirus dies at 25 degrees, so please stop repeating that, the spread in countries where the temperature has been exceeding 30C would suggest that's absolute nonsense.

No offence like but I don’t think you quite get it. Lots of words, not a great deal of understanding.

People still haven’t grasped the gravity of the situation have they?

Even when the government has said funerals will probably need to be PPV events etc

Mind boggling

they won't, I don't know whom you work with, but my colleagues won't put their phone down for 30 seconds to wash their hands, there's a percentage who don't wash them anyway, the horse has bolted, there's a serious possibility of Italy mk.II on it's way.

been reading this morning that Singapore has had no deaths from it's infections, as it shut the country down from day 1, whilst here we still have 'limited' flights to northern Italy.

Meanwhile, it seems this is the Prime Ministers approach...

what medical expert has said 50 million are getting this in uk? and as far as experts go some of them don't know jack sh*t I mean look at the so called expert from Manchester uni what the police commissioned look what garbage he wrote regards leppings lane after utd game and restrictions what were put in place after. my point is that this is media hysteria . instead of printing figures about how many have died from coronavirus deaths from mostly very frail elderly people ,why not print figures stating how many have died per day in uk from normal cold virus`s/flu who are frail because I can assure you that ive met many over 65s who got these virus`s and its finished them off ,or got these superbugs in hospital and that has too. im no expert but we all must realise that a very high amount of old people die over the winter months due to other colds, virus`s,flu, hospital bugs probably into tens of thousands that's why im trying to get some balance to whats happening not saying that it isn't serious.

they’ve said worst case scenario 80% of the UK could get it.

65M x 0.8 = 52 million people

One of the fun things about Corona virus is watching people 'outing' themselves as Freddie F**kwits by repeating fake theories and giving us their opinion on a how to manage a potential global pandemic.

Keep going and pass the hoarded Popcorn, there's not much else to do indoors.

Forest owner as now been reported as having the virus was at the match this weekend.

Yes its supposedly on his Instagram page. I didn't know he was at the match though.

If he was in contact with the Forest players and staff how could they let the match at the weekend continue?

Yeah Boris. Let it sweep through the population. After all, the ones most at risk are the elderly and infirm. It might just save a few bob on pensions and sickness and disability payments ,  HUH ?   goddamnfuckwit.  FFS.

its clearly not something id bet on but there is no way 50 plus million are getting this in the uk . look how many have it throughout the world. id say at tops 1 million will get it but that's bad enough as it will mean over 10000 dying.  all the points im making is there is a mass hysteria regards this and what there doing in Italy is way over the top. and the other point I made is that tens of thousands of old people die every winter due to getting nasty viruses, flu or those hospital super bugs what is fatal to those what are very frail or very poorly. surely we need to be doing far more to stop them getting it rather than have a mass panic and all get locked in our homes for months that is seriously way over the top.

Interesting to see how they are handling football in Italy.

Currently, games are suspended until at least April 2nd, but could go on longer and the season might not conclude fully.

FIGC (the Italian Football Federation) president Gabriele Gravina has put forward alternative options if the season cannot be concluded.

They include staging play-offs, not having a champion for 2019-20 or declaring the current standings final.

Play-offs could take place to determine the champions, European qualification and the three clubs to be relegated to Serie B.

But if the title winner is decided by the current standings then Juventus would be Italian champions for a ninth straight season, having gone back above Lazio with a 2-0 win over third-placed Inter Milan on Sunday.
