Those of you excusing Gary Monk

Recommended Posts

Hang your heads in shame

Yes there are things going on behind the scenes.

This capitulation though is down to Monk, his team selections are poor

his tactics (what are they?) are poor

his man management is terrible

the off field stuff isn't his doing

the on field stuff is totally down to him

It worries me that people think this is out of Monk’s hand.

He had a transfer window in January and didn’t get a defensive midfield. He got more of what we already have. We are stuck with Pessy.

He changes the team waaay too much every week.

He fails to see which players can actually make a difference in a game, and takes them off or puts them out of position.

Tactics are non existent. Subs make things worse not better.

Cant deal with Westwood and Hutch. I don’t care how much they cause problems, they are all grown men they just need to sort it out.

The players confidence is shot, and this manager is to blame. The manager sets the players up and the manager motivates. He can’t do either.

I agree partly with what you’re saying but the off field issues often and are obviously filtering down to our on field problems.
It’s just one big tangled web. I don’t believe changing manager again is going to change much, we’ll still be in a mess. BUT, I agree that his team selections etc do baffle me. Kind of a catch 22 situation.

Responsibility starts at the top.

He (the Chairman) appoints, he leads, he instructs, he guides.

Monk was his appointment.

Without knowing all the politics, personalities and challenges, I couldn’t praise or condemn Monk.

That wouldn’t be really fair.

I don’t excuse him - but he does have my sympathy.

And, so will the next manager.

Monk is garbage but the on field thing is not totally down to him

The players are being payed thousands a week to play professional football,it's not monks fault players can't pass 5 yards and can't tackle, they deserve 50p between them as it stands

Now 9 points off the bottom 3 with the potential point deduction to come. Absolutely pathetic from these players. I honestly can’t wait until the summer when we have the chance to get rid of some of them. If we do go down DC wants running out of this club.

Monk is a patsy.

Yeah, he's a crap manager, but there is far more going on here than just a poor manager struggling to get performances out of a team.

The rot set in long before he got here and it will probably end up with us in League one, whether or not Garry Monk is in charge or not.

This for me. ^

I still don't feel we'll ever know if Monk was any good or not with this crowd of p!ss takers on the pitch. I only need to see Monks reaction to the camera in the post match presser to know he is taking this personally, its hard to watch.

That said, I do believe Monks position is at the untenable stage.

Monks struggling but he’s in an awful spot and i don’t think he should be hung out to dry.

clubs an absolute car crash from the top.

hes just got a bunch of disenfranchised average players with no motivation.

i don’t really rate monk - I rate our players even less.

Monk knows they've thrown him under a bus.

The whole thing is a shambles.

A group of players trying to get the manager sacked; the club not sacking him; so we end up with wacky formations and selections.

It is an absolute farce.
