Thought keown  a dreadful Co commentator. If your going to give stats at least get them right!   Big ones was Ilorfa not played much  and Fletcher scored 12 goals before Xmas and only scored 1 since   and before anyone says yes its technically true  but being out with a serious knee injury  kind makes goals dry up

that iorfa stat got me every time the useless fool said it and what was with having Joey upfront supporting Nando. They couldn’t even be bothered to do basic research. Just looked and Iorfa has played 81% of the minutes in the league this season.

Didn’t even bother interviewing monk or one of our players; all about Man City, maybe we shouldn’t be surprised.

And martin keown... Don’t even get me started.

Should they have?

The drone/blimp shots were fantastic.

One in particular, through the tree at the back of the Kop - panning out to show all the ground lit up, was magnificent. It was brilliantly shot.

The old lady looked beautiful tonight.

And, it was complimented upon too.

The best thing we have.

Foolhardy to think we'd be better without.

I’m watching the game again ... I’m sure I’ve just heard Donkey Keown say ‘Fletcher scored 12 before Christmas, but only one since then, so has a point to prove’ ... and WE pay these muppets to add expert opinion?

Corrected.

Agreed, kept making the family watch those shots. Would make a great wall picture

was dreading tonight but walking to the ground the first sight of it lit up my mood lifted.

My mate text me to say Waddle was pitchside and Pearson was in the studio so atleast they wheeled out some Wednesday ex-pros.

Would they have interviewed Man City if we’d won? I dunno.

Thought it was OK tbh. Nice bit about the club before the match and showed some affection at times the commentary.

People think there is a conspiracy or something but whilst they could do a it more homework (Pelupessy up from lol) it seemed a fair balance to me.

Plus nice to have Nigel Pearson punditting.

How much of the game on tv did we miss. Always watching the sidelines (pep) or replays. The BBC is so crap at covering football.

I said the exact same thing. The amount of times the camera just concentrated on the Man City bench whilst the game was being played, very frustrating. Also Martin Keown made it out as if Iorfa was a player who wasn’t getting a look in. He’s played the vast majority of our games!

I caught a bit of the pre match on 5 Live and they spent 10 minutes discussing Man City - like they haven't discussed them a 1000 times before - and never mentioned who they were even playing.

It really is inexcusable that people paid like these guys are and who are supposed to have standing in the game like Martin Keown, Danny Murphy, Jermaine Jenas and the like not only have little idea about our team but don't really seem to think it's much of an issue. They do us the 'honour' of gracing us with their presence, take the money and blag it with platitudes, guesswork and waffle. I mean that team line up at the start - having Pelupessy playing in the support forward role !

Martin Keown went up a little in my estimation last night.

Ok, his commentary wasn't up to much, but he bigged Waddle up, talked about rarely winning at Hillsborough in his playing days, and had a little joke about the '93 cup finals. Came across as a far decent bloke than I've ever given him credit for in the past.

Amen, the stadium looked absolutely stunning - a true, traditional football stadium. Will be a sad day when we eventually move to, an albeit modern, soulless identikit stadium.

Keown was desperate for us to go marauding forward so they could pick us off and the Beeb could have their vvwankfest.

There was a moment when Iorfa went surging up pitch and we got picked off with men in front of the ball and I'd swear I heard Keown undoing his fly ready to fellate himself about how good City were.

The opening video package was great as were the occasional drone shots of Hillsborough.

The lack of research though is quite shocking.

A co-commentator should know that Fletcher has just come back from an injury. If that was a game involving two Prem teams then there is no chance he wouldn't know that.

I dont think Keown was wrong per se when he was critical about us not getting forward in the latter stages, but by doing so he came across as condescending. There was a bit where he was rambling on about how our players shouldn't be wanting signed shirts (from City), but trying to put in a performance. We are Sheffield Wednesday, a team in the Championship, not Matlock Town.
