why don't the press ask Monk this stuff... Foristieri  should never have come off..Da Cruz only stayed on because Monk  signed him and would make him look like a crap recruiter of players on loan or via money.

Looks like a forward version of Pelupessy. Who the fizz scouts these players????

Exactly. If you were a scout and watched a couple of matches say Luton away and today's match, would you recommend we took him on loan?

Somethings not right with the recruitment system. It stinks.

Meanwhile supporters are charged £25 for a televised match to help fund these fraudsters wages.

Give it a rest, people are just expressing their opinion. Did you hear any booing tonight? I didn't.

No not tonight but it won't be long.

Sadly, I've seen nothing to suggest he's anything more than the many random, left field foreign acquisitions that have landed at the club in recent years. I am fully expecting JvA Mk11.

Wait for his return these two are the future lol

I'm very worried about our scouting if he is someone who was deemed to improve the squad. Or was he just a last min panic buy to add numbers?

I think you know the answer to that question...

He’s no Di Piedi, more Sanetti. Even Rodri scored and then went crap.

When he plays he makes Monk look an even bigger crap recruiter.

I must admit I feel quite passionately about this issue, having seen it before once or twice most recently with Van Aken.
there is a gulf of difference between a good player out of form ( eg Borner in recent weeks) and a player who is not ready to play at this level like Da Cruz. It is unfair to the player to play him in the first team as all we will get are threads like this. The boos will come soon, then the hiding on the pitch, then he will leave here broken.
Like Van Aken has, there are glaring technical issues with the player, most noteably his awareness, team play, passing, touch and finding space. These have been apparent since the minute he set foot on the pitch here. as mentioned earlier in the thread, it is worth supporters watching the highlights from last night and the fletcher chance. Have a look what happens in the box as hunt gets the ball on the right. You won’t see that many times on a pitch at this level.

He has plenty of energy, is committed and a decent ball striker but there are really fundamental problems that won’t be solved any time soon. Most players in league 1 would be able to do a better job.

i will not hammer the player at all, like I didn’t JVA. The fault lies with the club putting players like this into first team football when they are not ready or able. I have no issues in concept about us helping a player from overseas improve if there is no real cost attached, as long as that player is happy to play under 23 football. But to expose an overseas player of this age and quality to first team football, in winter in the U.K., in our run of form, isn’t right or fair. Deep down the manager will know this, and know we won’t address those issues any time soon. Let the lad train, help him out, give him bench time if our form improves and shove him on for the last 10 if we are winning if needs be.

scouting has been mentioned on here. I assume there was a remit to find a cheap player who had good energy, was a potential ball carrier who could play in a variety of front positions, and was a potential wild card player in a team that is over formulaic in its attacking play. I can see how the player ticked those boxes but the attributes are overshadowed by some gaps in his game that will take more than a few months to improve. i can only urge our fans to not get on his back in the stadium, this is a club issue not the players fault.

Agree and why take FF of instead of him when we need a bit of magic from somewhere.

Because a fit FF might just do us some good in our next league game. An exhausted FF might not. Da Cruz isn't as important to us. look at the bigger picture.

(Not aimed at debran) There is so much negativity at present posters are looking for the negative in everytjhing rather than looking at the bigger picture. I can understand why to some extent after Saturday but that negativity won't help the club get out of this bad run.

Honestly, watched Will Ferrell at Soccer Aid and he had a better touch. How he wasn't subbed instead of Forestieri I'll never know.

Some of monks decisions are baffling , That Cruz fella was poor all the game .

Hes very poor. I was utterly disappointed when he hooked fessi for da Cruz. Shambles that decision.

don't you think when he took him off he was thinking about Brentford on Saturday? whats more important last night? or getting relegated? 12points deduction is coming and we need a minimum or 4 wins and a couple of draws to stop up. he did right leaving cruz on as he wont play Saturday. what worries me is bannan etc will be tired a lot of effort was put in last night , what more angers me about monk is that he wont use Hutchinson who clearly will help us stop up . whats more important? the demise of our club to the lower leagues and financial meltdown or some silly tiff between monk and Hutchinson .

Murphy didn’t disgrace himself - far from it - but was forced to do more defensive work than he would have hoped

Murphy was our best outlet, which is horrifying when you consider he barely got near the halfway line, let alone over it.

Such a lack of awareness too. First half when he was on the last man and the through ball came to him. Just let it run through instead of taking a touch, oblivious that it would then go straight to the defender. Dreadful.
