An excellent Carlton Palmer header for the second, Woods had it well covered but it was so precise. 1 "nobody told me there would be days like these!" BowOwl
Best Owls 5-2 reading a few years back. Although they scored a couple (1 a last minute pen) we looked untouchable on every attacked. Worst Reading 6-0 Owls. (also a few years back). Never seen such a bang average team wipe the floor with us.
fredmciverslovechild
Best - 6-1 v Chelsea, 1966 Worst - 0-3 v Cambridge United, 1977. Strange that for every one "best" I can think of half a dozen "worst"

In one of the drills I was marking David Johnson. The ball was played in to him and he dropped his left shoulder. As I was still moving across to block him he'd swivelled the other way and put it in the top corner. I played at a decent standard but that day taught me how good the pro's must be when someone who looked so poor on the odd occasions he played for us could mug me like that. I rarely slag players off as a result, other than if they don't put the effort in. Yeah , i should have added some context.....Johnson was playing with and against some very good players that day, hence me saying he looked so far out of his depth (not his fault, Francis,s fault for picking him). In terms of ability there have probably been much worse................a whole raft of them from the mid 70,s and early 2000,s.
soldierboyblue
Best has to be Liverpool away when Lawrie Madden marked Ian Rush out of the game The worst bar non was when we got relegated from the PL and lost to Coventry to all but seal our fate and the entire away end turned on the team with 'Your not fit to wear the shirt' chants.
