Not to mention that our current pricing scheme wouldn't look out of place at Bletchley Park. Members, non members, 1867 scheme, Gold members, silver members, 10 year season tickets, 3 year season tickets. Why is it so complex to come and watch us?

100% THIS

It has stopped us spending 100% it has. I agree with the millions of comments on here that we haven't spent wisely but it has stopped us spending.

We could spend as much as we liked if we traded our way through each season buying and selling at profit

Hoarding players means we can’t spend more

Ridiculous comment

Of course it has!!

Based on what’s online the owners of Fulham, Barnsley, Stoke, West Brom, Bristol City, Preston, Ipswich, Reading and Cardiff are all richer than DC.

Do you think we’re the only championship club impacted by FFP?

He said it hasn't stopped us spending!!

We spent too much  - were under an embargo - therefore stopped us spending!

Nothing to do with any other clubs

FFP wouldn’t have any effect if we traded players instead of hoarding them

As I said he hasn't spent wisely that is a totally different argument though.

I agree we need to be prepared to move players in and out and hopefully make a profit!

Not comparable. Most of your examples quoted a luxury experiences or treats that people will indulge in on special occasions or when they have substantial disposable income. Football supporters regard watching matches as a lifestyle habit and a regular out of pocket expense even for people on low incomes.

I agree but in doing so trying to be objective in terms of ignoring for a while the fans perspective and giving consideration to those out there on the pitch. They have sense of self entitlement so great that they see a million a year or more well within their range of expectation. This level of expectation is out of kilter with the expense involved in Owlstalks starting blocks.

Buy players with potential and sell at profit                              players aren't turned over in the same way anymore. Loans are an ever increasing part of the market.

Improve commercial side of business                                      Shop in situ, the shop is on line.

Increase positive comms to fans                                              Maybe a starting point would be to increase positive comms from fans.

Improve Matchday catering                                                      Yes it V Poor but not dissimilar to many of our competitors.

Ensure ticket purchasing is easy                                              SAG have played a part here, also on line ticketing needs looking at.

Acquire major sponsorships                                                      Be nice to get someone like Petronas on board. Pre Chansiri corporate was not very profitable.
Attract corporate partners and keep them                                 Our former corporate partners wanted a big say in pricing, simply it was a none starter.

Scout and secure the best youth for academy                          The big boys take the cream of the crop, we fight over the scraps.

We have to be patient and see what the end of the season brings. Change must, at the very least sweep over the EFL and hopefully the Premier league. Not too hopeful if the setting up of the womens game is anything to go by. Football at professional level becoming more uncompetitive by the season.

Virtually the entire championship would be spending more without FFP though.

And a lot of them have richer owners than us. It’d be like the wild west

That is not what was being argued though

You said FFP hasn't stopped us spending  - which is totally incorrect

Before FFP DC could have spent £100m a year if he so wished

Whether we have traded correctly or not (which is obvious we haven't) is a different matter

From that list

Parachute payments:

Fulham

Stoke

West Brom

Cardiff

Relegated:

Ipswich

Barnsley

Stoke are properly buggered as of next season too, they have 10 players on £50k+ per week and are losing ~£1m per week currently.

It requires clubs to be savvy in the transfer market. P & S/ffp doesn't stop clubs from spending per se. It defines the need for a strategical approach that we do not have. Providing players are moved out, it creates the capacity for bringing new players in. We buy but hardly ever sell. Is it any wonder we break the rules?

Really...it is a simple enough equation to solve it just takes Chansiri to admit he's got it wrong the last 5 years (which will never happen).

Matchday Prices

£25 Kop

£25 Lep (for home fans) Lower Lep given to community sources for each game.

£30 South

£30 North (with away fans at the Lep end)

£5 discount for members. Membership £30 per year.

Season Tickets

Kop/Lep £350

North/South £450

Kids £99

Students £150

Simple and easy to understand.

Gets our fans behind both goals. Solves the issue with North Stand entrance and exit as away fans get exclusive use of the gates on the Lep side.

what has that got to do with the initial argument? FFP has stopped us spending

Other issues are a different discussion
