All that is is another example of Sheffield Wednesday trying to extract cash out of its current fanbase. Rather than actually try and be successful on/off the pitch, build the brand up, attract new fans, the club has become obsessed with trying to rinse every last penny out of what it already has. Does the assertion take into account 1) season tickets 2) Discounted tickets (age & Disability) 3) Obviously POTG but this is often much less than 10% of the whole attendance. Commercially football is part of the entertainment business even though we haven't seen much entertainment this year. But do wild accusations of 'Rip of prices' help in any way ? What is the average price per bum on seat throughout the season ? How does this compare with other forms of entertainment ? 1 night at a decent Hotel for two with breakfast will see you spend between £60 and £120. 2 decent theatre tickets will relieve you of £70 to £140. a Nice meal out for two £60 to £120. 2 tickets to rock concert £100 to £400. 2 Opera or Ballet tickets £120 to £240. 2 Boxing tickets will relieve you of £100 to £1,000. 2 formula one racing tickets £150 to £250 add another grand to an all areas pass. Obviously there are many cheap alternatives providing cheap enjoyment. A walk in the country is free. A pair of day licences fishing is as cheap as chips. Of course if sport on TV is your thing then £20 per week will give you all the sport you want with a SKY contract where you can watch the very best in world sport then take to your keyboard and criticise the club. Chansiri put it out there a couple of years ago that no one need miss watching Wednesday due to affordability. Fans could apply for special concessions of reduced prices. Most of your examples quoted a luxury experiences or treats that people will indulge in on special occasions or when they have substantial disposable income. No offence, but some of those examples are ridiculous. Going to watch a Championship game every few weeks, shouldn't be setting people back hundreds of pounds.
