Still doesn’t answer why we are paying the highest ticket prices and yet are plummeting down the league, have poor facilities, poor catering experience and non existent communications from the club on strategy

Poor management, lack of vision, identity and clear plan!

All our season ticket revenue didn't cover Rhodes, Abdi, Hooper and Jones wages

We are getting fleeced for no other reason than  - they can!!

Forget this wage cap nonsense  - ticket price cap is the only way forward

Lose the fans lose the game

Our country is the worst at it  - yet we have THE most loyal support

And thats why they do it!!

OR

We could put the prices up even further and get promoted quicker

Make your mind up. How does having a smaller player budget help the club this what I can't get my head round?

If we cut ticket prices then he has to make savings elsewhere the obvious place is transfer fees and wages.

You are making the (incorrect) assumption that ticket prices are the only way to affect player budget/promotion prospects

If anyone can explain why we have the highest ticket prices that would be great

Cause we are family and he is trying to get to the premier league because the fans ( family) deserve it.

Nowt to do with making a few quid.

The commercial side of the club is an absolute shambles...

When Joe palmer arrived with his track record  at Shaktar I thought we'd got the right man...

How long did he last.

There is no plan, is there?

Well, there is, if you count 10 year season tickets.

All that is is another example of Sheffield Wednesday trying to extract cash out of its current fanbase. Rather than actually try and be successful on/off the pitch, build the brand up, attract new fans, the club has become obsessed with trying to rinse every last penny out of what it already has.

That doesn't end well.

High ticket prices ? Not too sure that this is so. Does the assertion take into account 1) season tickets 2) Discounted tickets (age & Disability) 3) Obviously POTG but this is often much less than 10% of the whole attendance.

Commercially football is part of the entertainment business even though we haven't seen much entertainment this year.

But do wild accusations of 'Rip of prices' help in any way ? What is the average price per bum on seat throughout the season ?

How does this compare with other forms of entertainment ?

1 night at a decent Hotel for two with breakfast will see you spend  between £60 and £120.

2 decent theatre tickets will relieve you of                                                       £70  to £140.

a Nice meal out for two                                                                                    £60  to £120.

2 tickets to rock concert                                                                                   £100 to £400.

2 Opera or Ballet tickets                                                                                  £120 to £240.

2 Boxing tickets will relieve you of                                                                   £100  to £1,000.

2 formula one racing tickets                                                                             £150  to  £250   add another grand to an all areas pass.

Obviously there are many cheap alternatives providing cheap enjoyment. A walk in the country is free. A pair of day licences fishing is as cheap as chips. Of course if sport on TV is your thing then £20 per week will give you all the sport you want with a SKY contract where you can watch the very best in world sport then take to your keyboard and criticise the club.

Chansiri put it out there a couple of years ago that no one need miss watching Wednesday due to affordability. Fans could apply for special concessions of reduced prices. I don't think the club received more than a handful of applications.

So how would you affect things to get a comparable player budget?  If you could expand on your plan

Buy players with potential and sell at profit

Improve commercial side of business

Increase positive comms to fans

Improve Matchday catering

Ensure ticket purchasing is easy

Acquire major sponsorships
Attract corporate partners and keep them

Scout and secure the best youth for academy

Thats the starting blocks

Not comparable. Most of your examples quoted a luxury experiences or treats that people will indulge in on special occasions or when they have substantial disposable income. Football supporters regard watching matches as a lifestyle habit and a regular out of pocket expense even for people on low incomes.

So why aren’t Brentford’s ticket prices as high as ours?

Chansiri pinned everything on season ticket sales ..  I would guess that our price season ticket holders pay per game is around what brentford potg ers cough  up....to answer your question if brentford charged our potg prices they'd probably lose 50% of there support

No offence, but some of those examples are ridiculous.

Going to watch a Championship game every few weeks, shouldn't be setting people back hundreds of pounds.

With our current ticket structure, that isn't out of the question.

What’s the point in raking over this again, it’s been done to death.  The club is f00ked and unfortunately all we can do is sit, watch it unfold and prey there’s something left at the end.  It’s a sad state of affairs but it’s been coming since Chansiri’s two year plan failed, he’s been called out time and time again but the people pointing his failures out were told to f00koff t lane.

Yes this has been coming for a few years. But anyone who called it out on here was labelled a bedwetter or told to ‘grow a pair’ by the usuals

Maybe a closer comparison may be another regular weekly occurring sport. Sheffield  Eagles, for example? (Not advocating we should be this cheap BTW)
