Lee Peacock’s Wednesday Legacy

You said he had no legacy.

Surely being in a Play Off winning side is his legacy. Fair enough he wasn’t prolific but he was a great foil for the man that was.

Yep seeing Waddle and Sheridan in their prime is nowt in comparison to that

A few years after he left Wednesday I bumped into Lee Peacock on a night out in Portsmouth.

After I’d made myself known to him he sacked his missus and mates off and spent the rest of the night drinking with us.

Top bloke and a good laugh.

As you do.

It could of been someone pretending to be him.

Like most strikers who come to us. Sign with an impressive goal scoring record and then forget where the net is when they pull on the blue and white.

Peacock, Owusu, Morrison, Jeffers, May, Winnall, Rhodes etc.

Gary Thompson

No ones comparing talent just that at the time he was hard working , in a play off final and even back then the likes of top quality players playing for us was a distant memory . Far more talented players have given less of a f##k and tried less on the pitch for us . Third division may well have been his level and at the time it was ours too .
