Dunt impress me one bit, all about money with him, he'd jump ship if he had our players.

Bit harsh. I'm mean it's true he would never get on the ship in this first place for our players but he's never walked out on a contract and he improved Barcelona significantly when he took that job on, initially by moving out the high earners that weren't performing.

All top managers have money to spend at the level they operate.

West Brom are 7 points clear in terms of an automatic promotion place and Leeds are still 2nd.

By comparison we have gone from 3rd place to 9 points behind 6th place. In that time we have lost to the worst team in the division at the time, the 3rd worst team and have taken a point off the 2nd worst team. Stoke were also in or around the bottom 3 when we lost to them, Reading and Hull aren't much better.

5 points from 10 games and we are the lowest scorers at home in the division.  Nearly a quarter of the season with dire results week after week and equally bad performances with odd team selections and poor excuses.

You make it sound as though there's an issue....

Rumours are he only has a contract to the end of this season. If that is the case then he won't offer him a new one.

But if we leave it until the summer we have to find a new manager who has to get to know the squad and their capabilities and decide who's in/out and what positions need filling. By the time this has been done free agents are snapped up and the transfer window is drawing to an end. Needs sorting now.

No decent manager will take this job on now with the threat of putting a relegation on their CV for 2 months work if we get a points deduction. The position will become clearer by the end of the season.

Just checked the opposition league positions as they were before the match for the last 5 away games -

Stoke  24th  L

Leeds  1st  W (!)

Wigan  23rd  L

Barnsley  23rd  D

Luton  24th  L

It's just far too depressing to go into the stats for our opponent's form before playing us for the last 10 games...

Maybe so, depends when (if) the points deductions come. If they come in March and we've continued our abysmal run then we will be odds on favourites to go down so the new manager could be "let off" for a relegation with it being a challenge of rebuilding.

I don't think Cardiff, Hull, Blackburn, Millwall and Reading were troubling the top half of the table too much either and their respective away records would probably have most teams rubbing their hands at the prospect of playing them at home.......

Let off by the fan base in the main yes I agree but the stats will still show a relegation for them and they will be starting the new season as a division 3 manager. In that respect most prospective managers are likely to wait until the summer to see what the position is.

Would snap you hand off for a battling draw v Birmingham just to give us hope that these players haven't given up totally.

No chance.

Birmingham are are a good run. We can't even pass the ball.

That's more to do with Chansiri, not Monk.

Any other club and he would've been gone weeks ago.

Weeks ago we were 3rd....!

I didn't specify how many and wasn't that about 8 weeks ago anyway?

In essence, makes it look worse. We've destroyed our season in the best part of about 8 weeks, fantastic really, so impressed.

I reckon half the people on here would have wanted Big Ron sacked when he took us down in his first season, the other half would have still been scratching their heads as to why we got rid of Eustace when we did.

Big Ron took a poo side and got it relegated. Monk has taken a side pushing for promotion and is getting it relegated.

Big Ron had a record of success. Monk has done fizz all anywhere.

No point in changing him give him a chance to do his own thing

Who's 'thing' is he doing now?

Those teams haven't dropped from 3rd to 12th playing hoof ball within 1 month though have they.

Not saying points should be picked up every game, but 1 win in 10 is tragic for any team and with only 13 games left and a potential points deduction to come, without any kind of change or reaction and we're as good as down now tbh.

.....and some very strange selections, odd positional choices ( wasn't FF at left wing back for 45 mins?), blaming the players as after Wigan, writing off chances of play offs when only halfway through this bad spell, and although Hutchinson is not what he was and Westwood the same and made some bad errors, it's a funny thing to despatch them as senior players  to the U 23's...and even there they do not get not into the match day squad.
