Totally agree but can't help hearing that in a Swiss Toni voice. 'Selling players and reinvesting is a lot like making love to a beautiful woman...' lol

When the stock is high, you grab the chance of a second date but you pull out before the resale value goes stale and get stuck with no way of escape.

The trick is to wine and dine, treat a transfer like a fine woman or a fine car, polish it up and then get out of it what you can before you're lumbered with dross or P&S bills.

Sell and reinvest wisely, avoiding the mistakes of the past and trading in for a younger model... :ghoulguy:

You’re a natural.

In time? Let’s see if we can first replace the players who left earlier

We’ve got Dunkley to come in and Urhoghide who can play there plus time to replace Iorfa. I wouldn’t turn down big money for that reason. We HAVE to start making money not just losing it.

We've got to start selling our players when their stock is high in order to function as a business. So long as we get a good price for Iorfa. The positive thing is we are still in a transfer window so can replace him in time.

We need to win games this season and we need our best players. Staying in Championship beats making a quick buck. We are low on numbers currently (could not fill bench for game in midweek) we have vacancies for players and are not finding it easy to fill them.

Please indicate where we can get speedy centre back to replace him. Centre backs are one of most highly sought after positions in team just look at transfer fees they go for. This chap has height and pace its only second season at centre back so still improving.

If a big bid comes in he is gone

He would have his head turned and the club need the money.

we are not in a position to turn big offers down , sad but true

In an age when average players are being sold for 10-15 million

Some are willing to accept 10 million for a centre half with real pace

It's no wonder we always have our pants pulled down on transfers

15 million minimum, not a penny less

Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife.

Do we really need the money ?  Keeping your best players to get us out of the mess we find ourselves in is priority !!   UTO

Yes, yes we do.

Iorfa is one of our best players. Totally agree. We can’t continue to operate as we have done previously. Players have to be sold for the right amount when their stock is high.

Iorfa cost us peanuts, there’s another Iorfa our there. You never know, Dunkley may be a natural replacement.

I know what ya saying mate, but you’ve got to build before you offload players, if you don’t you run the the risk of being stagnant in the division your in. !!    UTO

Even the parachute payment clubs and other clubs fancied to make the top 6 have to sell players, in order to reinvest and strengthen their squads. Without parachute payments and without fans at games, releasing, loaning out or selling players is even more important to bring in other players for all clubs.

We've been stagnant ever since the two failed play off attempts. It could be argued that we struggled, due to relying on players we kept hold of for too long or not selling enough players whilst they still had resale value. And in turn not freshening things up or reinvesting enough in players with resale value to replace our previous key players.

Numerous teams at this level progress or become more competitive on and off the pitch by selling players, reinvesting and strengthening gradually with other players with some resale value.

We at least look to be operating smarter off the pitch by bringing in or targeting bargains and younger players, selling any of our players for a favourable amount would allow us to stay within P&S and reinvest into the squad, strengthening areas of the team we need to strengthen.

This makes literally no sense. You've almost described what we've done over the last few years and it's resulted in us being about as stagnant as you could possibly get without being a filthy pond.......

It's about balance and being well organised. We should be improving our players, making them desirable, selling them for profit in the knowledge that we know exactly who we will bring in to replace them. Not stockpiling sh!te in the hope that one comes good.

Can’t see DC selling unless 15m +

unless Dom wants the move.
be gutted to lose him tho.
but if could invest 15+ in 3/4 good players with sell on value then prob good move.
imagine selling for 8m n buying Zahore for 8m. 😫

this Dion guy could be good buy if right price. Young n future sell on. That’s if he’s any good as no idea about him.

If we keeping all CB’s now then it’s do we need him. He plays CB or RB. Can he play RWB?
but there we have Palmer, Ozaze, Moses, Harris, Reach can all play there.

interesting times

Swansea and Bournemouth are chasing one time Wednesday target, Joel Latibeaudierre, who lifted the U17 World Cup with England. Manchester City are willing to let the player leave on a free, but will want a sell on percentage. Would of thought if we were interested, we’d have a chance as he is a local lad

I would imagine he’ll sign for Cooper at Swansea?

Did he ever come here on trial? The rumour was, after the signing of FDB, we were interested in two other City youth players, a defender, and an attacker. The attacker I guess was Simmonds, who by all accounts, couldn’t agree terms, but do we know that the defender was this guy?
