Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread 2020-2021

Recommended Posts

Forest are worse than we were during our FFP spending spree. They’re hoarding players like crazy with no apparent system in place. Literally get to the PL at whatever cost. I would’ve thought the likes of Leeds and Utd have shown teams recruitment and structure is fair more effective than scattergun spending.

A team who bought Perreira for 9 arent then getting 8 for Zohore. Therell be a lot of to'in and fro'in on this deal but he'll eventually go somewhere on loan as he won't want to lose any of that 50k a week and west brom will want to recoup some money to spend it elsewhere. Probably one for deadline day.

I am be wrong but where they demanding 5 million from us at the time?

dunno. There were reports of a 3mil bid from us, but the same was said about Turnbull. Probly all ballacks. Doubt we could have done either at the time. It was said that Aberdeen wanted 7mil. Was also said they wanted 4mil for Cosgrove, but then accepted 2mil offer from Guingamp.

Went on the WBA Fans forum site and they were saying that they paid 4m for him and with add ons it would take it up to 8m.

So I would think 2-3 million is a more reasonable price but this has been rumbling on for to far too long we need a player in now and ready for the next league game.

Look elsewhere

I bet we get him on deadline day .... smells a bit like how we got rhodes

Zohore for 8 million, no chance we'll pay that nor should we if we don't want to repeat the mistakes of the past. Remember that's just the fee and then there is the 50k a week wages on top. Time to move on IMO.

Gayle would be unrealistic but Bonatini and Davis could be alright as a more physical presence up top with Windass or Kachunga

Gayle is out injured for 12 weeks

I was looking at the under-23 and under-18 squad lists and it has Adedoyin and Hagan as forwards for the under-23s and Bonnington and Zottas as forwards for the under-18s. Both under-18 forwards were involved in the first under-23 game of the season last week against Wigan.

Then for the first team you have Rhodes, Windass, and Kachunga. Reach is currently being used as a forward. To say we have a lack of forwards at the club is an undersratement.

I'm totally expecting us to go to Bristol City next Sunday with the same choice of forwards. In fact I'm not expecting us to bring anyone in until the domestic only two week window that runs during the next international break. In all fairness though I find it hard to believe we're going to invest heavily in a forward or two while relegation to League 1 hangs over us?

Yes I hope we are moving on to some other targets now as the Zohore deal seems a bit pricey and is dragging on.

We might be better doing so if we can and if they are willing. It’s much harder to get one when you can only pay them 2.5k a week. The Mackems ended up having to sign Danny Graham!
