Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread 2020-2021

Recommended Posts

I get that we have some decent options at RWB, but Sanderson is a player we should pursue. Good age and lots of potential, plus if and when we switch to 4 at the back covers RB or CB.

If we move to 4 at the back

Sanderson, Iorfa, Dunkley, Penney

Has some real set piece threat (obviously Palmer would play a fair few games too)

The people saying Jutkiewicz isn’t playing for Birmingham do realise he’s virtually started every week in the league for years don’t they? He’s an ever present. That’s why they’ve signed Hogan back, because they partner them together with Bela.

He far from unwanted at Birmingham. The real question is whether they’d let him go and for how much.

..and whether we should be paying what it would take to sign him at 31yrs of age. In my opinion, we shouldn’t. Monk repeatedly says he wants younger more dynamic players. Juke does not fit that description in any way.

But, do we really need him ?

We already have Harris, Palmer and Odubajo playing there. We also have talented players like Dawodu and Hughes breaking through.

Sanderson would have to be one hell of a player for us to justify signing him, everything considered.

Looking at longer term if he's a good prospect for the right price yes we do need him can't see us extending the contracts of Odubajo, Lees, Westwood, Rhodes,Pelupessy,Borner, Van Aken and if a offer came in for any of these we wouldn't stand in their way. So we will already be looking for young promising prospects for these positions.

Monk just asked about transfers. He said we are working behind the scenes but nothing is imminent. :bullen:

Concerning IMO.

Ok our first XI is fine, not brilliant but about average at this level.

But our bench today was weak; Wildsmith, Palmer, Shaw, Hunt, Dele-Bashiru, Reach, Kachunga.

Nothing against those players and I’m sure most of them will have a part to play this season.  But that’s the standard of player you’d expect a League One club to have on their bench.

Not sure enough quality in depth.

And with league fixtures coming thick and fast throughout autumn, it will be those teams that don’t have decent rotation options in reserve that will come unstuck once the 3-game-weeks kick in.

We need a striker in before the game next weekend, we need someone that offers something different to what we already have and we need that player to be ready to come in to the 1st team straight away, not someone who will be out for a few weeks getting fit. Every game is so important and as well as we did today from a defensive point of view we looked weak up top.
