I run a junior team and some teams have girls playing for them. The girls have been the best players on the pitch on a number of occasions. The gap is definitely closing.

Aren't girls usually taller at Junior age

Once hormones start to kick in that's when boys start to out perform the girls

I enjoy women's football, but it's not a patch on men's football

Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife.

Early in the new season we may well be facing a familiar face

One who i think would considerably strengthen us right now if we kept him

But i get it. New broom and all that...

I watch my great nephew play under nines (I think) and agree the girls are as good at this age, even though sometimes  I think the lads are to gentlemanly when it come to tackling them they kind of hang back.

Last season one girl took the team apart, cracking player.

Saw a girl play in goal last year at u8 she was the best goalie I'd ever seen at that level.

I don't think there is any reason for the girls to be any worse in todays game. Top football at men's level is much higher, but with the lack of physically now, if they are technically gifted they can make it. Look at Xavi and Iniesta, never fast, strong or tall. But incredible balance, skill and vision got them a long way. Seeing some of the women play for PSG the other day, they are bigger and more physically dominant.

Huge gap in strength, turning, speed, aerial ability. Yeah, some womens games are worth a watch but they couldn't live at tier 10 level.
