Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread 2020-2021

Recommended Posts

Championship club Birmingham City have signed winger Ivan Sanchez on a free transfer from Spanish side Elche.

The 27-year-old has agreed a three-year contract with the Blues, with the option of a further year.

Former Almeria and Albacete man Sanchez spent three years with Elche, helping the club win promotion to La Liga last season via the play-offs.

The Spaniard becomes Birmingham boss Aitor Karanka's third signing of the summer transfer window.

Strange Birmingham are signing a La Liga right winger on top of Leko.

Doesn’t sound like Leko would be a guaranteed starter.

Karanka is a strict 4231 man who I’m sure will play Jutkiewicz as the target man up front so

he won’t be playing there.

I think he will, Leko although referred to as a winger in the press,is actually more of a forward, maybe a wide attacker Could see him and Juke forming a similar pairing to the one he had with ache Adams

Still in for Da Cruz according to Dom

Wickham off the radar

Forwards have been identified

Despite Leko signing for Brum, Dom still thinks we have a chance.

Eh how, by buying him off Birmingham?

Da Cruz is a poor man's Murphy - another statement on non-intent if we end up with him over Murphy.

Nothing new to report with Murphy. Wednesday would love to bring him back but Steve Bruce is taking a closer look at him at Newcastle. Murphy has quite a few potential suitors in the Championship and Rangers are big admirers of his qualities. It all depends on what Newcastle decide to do with him.

The closest Wednesday are in terms of signing a forward is with Windass. That deal is at an advanced stage. But the club have got other irons in the fire which they are working on as we speak.

is Windass really a forward? Wonder who these other irons are please God don’t let one of them be Da Cruz!

Thanks for the question. It's not an absolute foregone conclusion that Leko is going to Birmingham but it does look like they are in pole position now to sign him. Money often talks in football so perhaps that has swung things their way as well as location. Wednesday are in talks with other strikers. I don't know any names just yet but work is going on behind the scenes.
