As a fanbase we have so many legal, financial, coaching and managerial experts on Owlstalk alone it does makes you wonder why we are in such a mess both on and off the pitch.

Get your CVs sent in to Mr C and we'll soon be sorted.

A forum full of opinions.

Whatever next ? The worlds gone crazy.

No. As someone whos just paid a chunk of CGT for the sale of something business related - I genuinely thought he'd mixed it up (especially so early in the morning)

But thanks for getting your pitchfork involved lol

The qualified accountant has made me feel a touch more positive (again) amid the quagmire of a tirade of speculative and unqualified negativity on here right now.

Maybe his advice was good and he’s learning...

The kits for example, massive improvement this season on all fronts.

It was shown as £22,250,000 in the 2014/15 accounts.

That is the valuation figure. There is separate disclosure of the historic cost in the note

No wrong. He was inferring that a well qualified accountant had got Capital Gains Tax and Corporation mixed up. Hope that helps? For those hard of reading

Surely you mean Capital Gains tax? Not Corp tax?

Tbf I know Grandad

All based on imagination and guesswork.  It's great isn't it

We can but hope.

If we do come out of this without any charges/embargos etc, then the summer may present an opportunity to almost start afresh.

That is a big IF though.

Don't laugh but it's something I've long wondered..do you have to be any good at mathematics to be an accountant?

Not really - the maths I use day to day I knew at age 11.

It's more about what they mean and explaining it to folk

Interesting..is there a formal maths qualification required to become qualified?

GCSE probably

Lot of entry into the profession at apprenticeship level these days.

No need for anything higher than that.

More about being analytical

And being on OT rather than doing it

Remember when football was more about the sport rather than the accounts and money? The fact fans and media talk about this in great detail is a sad indictment of where we’re at with football right now.

I used to go to football to escape from the day job
