SiJ Posted February 13, 2020 Share Posted February 13, 2020 Too many of the players aren't either good enough or just need moving on for everyone's sake. Likewise, Garry Monk isn't up to it either. His efforts at cajoling the players and/or calling them out has failed miserably and has only been compounded by his tactical ineptness. No one in their right mind starts pratting about with a system like 3-5-2 for a mid-week game when we have little to no experience of having played it previously. Vertigo? Complacency, job done? Would it be any easier or entertaining if we were annual failures like Derby? Even Preston & Bristol City have maintained their season. And Cardiff. Some of our fans still have this weird, blind loyalty to a bunch of players who nearly achieved something. A group of player who nearly got promoted from the second tier of English football and have been paid far more than many of their peers at the same level. A group of players who have shafted at least three (four, if you include Bullen) managers in the last five or so years and whose not to say they wouldn't have shafted Bruce too?! Oh, and a group of players that has certain members (Hutchinson and Westwood) who have now been banished from the first team by two managers. Monk isn't up to it, but it is so patently obvious that there are players employed at Sheffield Wednesday who need to be binned off ASAP. Beat QPR and he'd have got it. Doesnt matter how long he was here for. The players threw him under the bus so he didnt get the job. He's supposed to be their mate too. The core of this squad has been here now since 2015, that cant be argued. The fact the team still has players from 2013 and 2014 in it is mental.
