IF DC put the club up for sale.

Recommended Posts

Every other year an un-fancied, yet well-drilled, workman-like team, assembled on a budget by a hard-nosed-b*****d in an unfashionable part of the country makes it to the promise land. The bottom half of premier league is full of these teams and has been for years.

Finding the right man is not rocket science as much as DC makes it look like that with his innovative broken-clock style approach to managerial and back-ground appointments. The thing is the right men won't touch this job because they have a basic grasp of common sense. It's frustrating as hell, I dread to think who's next on the out-of-work journeyman rolodex, gotta-collect-em all!

Monk is yet another dud, and we are a burning train-wreck of a club that keeps finding new ways to catch fire and meltdown it's oddly captivating. We're trapped in a time anomaly where football hasn't moved on since we were relegated and the transfer window hasn't been invented yet. It ain't dull unlike the football. DC will either get it right eventually or he will be forced to sell for exactly the amount of value he has added to this club in the time that he has been here being the square root of f--k all at this point.

When was the last time watching Wednesday didn't feel like a boring chore? 2016?

Did a good job at Swansea, Leeds and Brum, but then he did not have the squad we have here.

There’s billionaires come from nowhere but. I’d imagine there’s a lot more attractive propositions than us to buy in the league or lower and invest to get up

the size of the fan base and stadium means nothing these days plus our stadium as history only offers nothing as business

here’s A question though If some one did buy would they still have no money to spend due to us being over FFP limits and looking likely to be for the next few years or close to them guess is they couldn’t spend until the business is brought under those limits so they would be buying a business they couldn’t invest in for a few years

Barnsley Luton and Rotherham are better propositions for investors rather than us

any would be investor would want us to tidy our annual accounts up and that’s going to take another two three years

I think chansiri knows this too

The end, get a hold of yourself.

For a Socialist you’re cutting the rich boy son of a Thai millionaire a lot of slack. Our future is totally in the hands of a bloke who has spunked £100m on getting nowhere and in the process has raisied prices to higher than all our competitors.

Then some of us will find our fears have been sadly justified.

But you might get a sparkly new owner ??   Maybe even a £350k transfer kitty and some cheap ticket prices

Nobody can 'come to the rescue', can they?  Whoever came in would have the same issues DC has.  I.e. not being able to spend whatever money they had.  Wouldn't make a difference.

I really hope this season has shown what a shower the EFL are and clubs vote to bin off P&S.  It's ruining the lower leagues.

No mate.

You’ve got it all wrong.

If DC left there would be billionaires queuing round the block.

Pep would immediately take over as manager.

The EFL would grant us immediate dispensation against any P&S rules.

SAG would let us fill the ground & leave from whichever exit we liked.

Drinks would be served all through the game by  sub contracted Hooters girls.

Pay on the gate would be two bob including a programme.

The pillars on the kop would magically disappear & the sun would be told not to shine onto the North stand during a game.

Yep. The second DC turns his back on us, it will be back to those glorious, halcyon days gone by. The glorious flowing football, the non stop success, the trophies, the endless investment, the “Save our Owls”, the unbridled excitement of approaching administration. The tax man threatening to wind us down. Selling Whelan & Brunt for a packet of Smarties to fend them off.

Yeah fuc**n do one Chansiri you’ve held us back for long enough. Time to return to past glories.

Heard Mcsue’s looking for a new club.

Least we’d have a hotel.

He’s spunked £100m on fuckall.  And the answer is scrap the squad that money has built and replace it with freebies and kids in the summer who can compete with mega bucks parachute payment teams. Hell of a success story. All hail King Chansiri.

I think the way forward for Chansiri, acting in his own interest, is painfully obvious: 1) Keep the Club. 2) Stop losing money.

1) Because of the overhang of our situation under P&S rules, the club is nearly worthless, so no point to try to sell now.

2) Easy to stop losing money. Stop investing. Let all of the players with expiring contracts leave at the end of this season. Sell anyone who remains who has any value. Replace with other sides' academy cast offs, and other free transfers of teenagers. Defer maintenance of Hillsborough.

Implicit in this is accepting relegation to League Two. Hold in League Two for a few years until the P&S limitations expire. Get back some real commercial sponsorships. Lower ticket prices and stabilize attendances. Based on size of club, he should be able to make a little money in League Two, and still avoid relegation from the EFL. While down there, sell any developing assets every year (The New Barnsley Model).

Go back up to League One in a few year's time.

Sell. He won't get his loses back of course, but they are water under the bridge.

Not joking, and not saying I like this prospect. I think it is what he would do if he were a rational actor. Fortunately, he's not.
