Expectations v Luton

Recommended Posts

No great expectations tonight.

More hard times likely. Another defeat and there could be a bleak house at Hillsborough on Saturday.

I think we will win, everyone will get excited about the playoffs again, then Reading will bum us 3-1 on Saturday.

It’s what Wednesday do.

How 'different' are we talking here?

  • Luton in terrible form,

Right then, Luton are in form a massive win against Sheffield "Imodium" Wednesday!

Right, come on.  Out with it.

Before we play Luton, what do you EXPECT.

  • We are playing poorly,
  • New players who haven't developed chemistry yet,
  • Luton in terrible form,
  • Away from home against a 'spoiler' relegation team who we always play badley against.

Set your expectations here.

I expect:

  • We won't be able to pass or maintain possession,
  • Game just like Barnsley match,
  • Hoof ball, very little quality,
  • 1-0 to us at HT,
  • Finish 1-1 through a Luton scrappy goal.

Another loan signing??

I'd settle for a 4-0 defeat.

We've already seen different formations since Christmas, all of them have no effect if we continue to lump it long. 3 up top, 1 up top, 2 in midfield, 3 in midfield. I don't mind us being direct but not passing or retaining the ball at all is causing us massive problems.

I agree 100% I think we are far better when we try to play

Interesting. If that's the case, at least Monk's trying something different to shake us out of this slump we're in.

A few on here have been calling for that, and it might just get the best out of some of our players.

Based on this....to not die would be a result.

I don’t expect us to even take the lead, we’ll get turned over

Disjointed performance in which we are out fought. Probably go ahead in a scrappy first half but most of us will be able to see what is coming a mile away as Luton come back to win 2-1.

Wednesday to go ahead mid way through the first half but concede before half time.

Collapse second half and lose 5-1.

Get promised a big reaction at the weekend

Monk really needs a result tonight.

Lose and we will have taken 1 point from the 3 teams who will be playing in league 1 next season in consecutive games.

Blaming the players simply won't wash in that situation.

I actually thought we’d win at Barnsley.

Which made what happened even more annoying.

Luton in rotten form, we are no better. I am expecting another turgid, disjointed display and a defeat.

On the flip side, with my expectations being so low, anything other than a defeat would be a welcome bonus.

Apathy has well and truly set in.

I’m not betting on us tonight, therefore we shall win.
